Anyone had success with Big Sur using Clover? Upgrading from Mojave.

I think I might just end up sticking with Mojave or Catalina for a while. I'm hoping Apple improves the GUI with their next update in September because man it looks ugly right now. Like why are we turning MacOS into iPad OS/ iOS again?

Anyone had success with Big Sur using Clover? Upgrading from Mojave.

So if I get OpenCore working I should be able to update directly to Big Sur from Mojave using System Preferences?

Anyone had success with Big Sur using Clover? Upgrading from Mojave.

I'm running Mojave and have a couple questions about updating to Big Sur. 1) Do I have to upgrade to Catalina first? If so, do I need to do anything other than updating Clover to the latest version? (I plan on cloning my working Mojave installation to an external HD so I can revert if I run...

How to Prepare for Big Sur

Am I able to update from Mojave to Big Sur through Software update? I'm using iMac 18,1 system definition. Is there anything I need to do to prepare besides updating to the latest Clover?

Is there any good reason to update from Mojave to Catalina?

Honestly, Mojave has been by far the most stable macOS for hackintosh in my experience. (I've run Snow Leopard, Mavericks, El Capitan, Sierra). Once I got everything set up I've had no kernel panics anything like that for almost 2 years of use. With the exception of when I accidentally updated...

Is there any good reason to update from Mojave to Catalina?

Thanks for the info, I have a friend who's even having bugs with Catalina on his iMac and Macbook! Mojave seems to be more stable overall, and Catalina doesn't really bring anything new to the table worth risking my stability. It's another one of Apple's "major OS updates" that is basically the...

Is there any good reason to update from Mojave to Catalina?

Is there any good reason to update from Mojave to Catalina or should I just wait until Big Sur is released? I don't see any features worth updating for when I have a stable Mojave install, in fact the removal of 32 bit apps is a reason not to upgrade on it's own. I'm wondering if maybe I...

Apple Previews macOS 11.0 Big Sur - Available Fall 2020

Catalina didn't add any new features to make upgrading worthwhile for me and OS 11 looks like the most dismal "major macOS update" ever. Case in point, remember OS 9 to OS X? Completely different UI and architecture. It felt like a decade long leap in technology was happening. OS 11 just looks...

No audio after 10.14.6 update. VoodooHDA stopped working!

As far as I know 10.14.6 completely bricks VoodooHDA... I had to use the AppleALC audio method which has been working fine for the last few months.

    Graphics upgrade recommendations?

Hmm I can't seem to find that one in stock anywhere so 580 it is I guess. There's some on ebay but I learned my lesson about buying used cards...

    Graphics upgrade recommendations?

I'm running a stable build with Mojave 10.14.6 but I have a defective RX 570 (I bought it used not realizing it had been used for crypto-mining). The card basically overheats (causing a full system freeze) any time its running a demanding game so at this point I just want to replace it. I'm...

Solved > Shutdown and restart not working in Mojave ASUS PRIME B360M-A

May I ask why you would want to use integrated graphics when many modern cards work almost out of the box with hackintosh? My RX 570 was literally plug and play. My Clover folder *should* work for your system but I can't make any promises.

    Mojave AppleHDA Audio

I think you misunderstood me. My AppleALC audio is working, I was just wondering why my audio options are suddenly in Hebrew in the menu bar/System Prefs. See the screenshot I sent.

    Mojave AppleHDA Audio

Why would I remove those when that’s what I’m using for audio. I uninstalled voodoo.

No audio after 10.14.6 update. VoodooHDA stopped working!

Yeah I had it in both my EFI/Clover and my Library/Extensions. Didn't work. I got AppleALC with working now so doesn't matter.

    Mojave AppleHDA Audio

I just switched to AppleALC after the 10.14.6 update made VoodooHDA not work no matter what I tried. (Also was giving me kernel panics). Audio is working now but my input/output options display in another language. Anyone know why this could be?

    AppleHDA Realtek Audio [Guide]

I just switched to the AppleALC method of audio after 10.14.6 made VoodoHDA stop working. All is good but my audio options are displaying in another language lol. Anyone else have this problem?

No audio after 10.14.6 update. VoodooHDA stopped working!

10.14.6 appears to completely break VoodooHDA (at least it did for me). AppleALC method seems to be the only way to get sound now.

Solved > Kernel panics after 10.14.6 update

Well my theory was correct. I removed VoodooHDA.kext and got audio working via the AppleALC method and no more KPs. Apparently 10.14.6 prevents VoodooHDA from working and causes KPs if it's installed, even when using the latest version of it.

Solved > Kernel panics after 10.14.6 update

it’s blurry but it looks like it stalls on loading VoodooHDA, my audio driver. What do you think?
