Dumping DSDT via Windows is a mistake.
Use either linux, or else put Clover on a USB thumb drive and dump it there by pressing F4 in the boot menu (Or Fn+F4 depending on your F-keys configuration in BIOS)
You have two ethernet kexts declared in your config.plist - RealtekRTL8100.kext and RealtekRTL8111.kext
I don't see AirportBrcmFixup.kext declared in your config.plist.
Also - AirportBrcmFixup.kext is not present in your kexts folder
Remember - it's not just copying your kext to the folder...
I've been struggling with migrating to OpenCore for a while. Finally got some help with the battery SSDT and managed to get BigSur working properly....ish. I want to share my experience. This is a guide of a sorts, but I will leave it to the forum mods to decide whether to move it...
Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I know whether it's disabled or not?
Do I need to edit something, or just delete the entries? I can see some of them are 16 bits, others 8, etc. - am I expected to convert these somehow? Offset is always 0x04 - is this what it is supposed to be, or is...
Thank you so much !!!
I will build a new OC from scratch to make sure I'm not missing anything and try this tonight !
I didn't think of using a desktop EC before... could that be a reason why I've been failing?
Can you please help me a bit? I've been poking around and reading different materials - I must say, I simply do not understand the mechanics of DSDT and SSDT dynamics.
I tried reading a few patched battery SSDTs, as I am getting ACPI errors during boot with OC, so I am currently...
Hi there !
I found myself migrating to OpenCore. It is booting Catalina just fine, however, it will not boot the BigSur installer and I want to get it straightened out for when it does come out.
I have installed and configured OC fine, however, when trying to boot the installer I am getting...
I spent two hours yesterday reading the beginners' guide for OpenCore.
The result was that my current Catalina install booted without any hiccups whatsoever - and if anything, booted quicker!
If worse comes to worst, you will have lost two or three hours of your day learning something - and...
Not sure about the KP, but your system definition is definitely wrong. MacBookPro15,2 uses iX-8xxxU CPUs whilst you have a 7200U, which is a different generation.
I would switch to 14,1 or 14,2 if I were you. See if the KP persists then maybe?
I would also suggest that you post your full...
I'm not sure what the differences may be when you have a discrete GPU, but what I did was I found out how people are building their config.plists with hardware similar to mine. I happen to have a UHD620 with i5-8250U. Going to Catalina Laptop guides you can extract from any similar guide, but...
What is interesting, imho is that NVidia do not utilize ARM designs in any of their products, aside from the Tegra CPUs, AFAIK.
Saying that, Tegra is long gone - maybe this will be a way for NVidia to come back to mobile. Either way, ARM will be the next corner stone in computing, I think -...
Perhaps I didn't share the latest version of my config.plist prior to copy/pasting your code over it.. but I did check it and the values were proper. I think I just need to stop cheating with Clover Configurator, which I used every now and again for SMBIOS and PCI devices declarations - it seems...
You're a genius!
I don't know why the sequence mattered - but it did! I checked it 5 times and I had the same values - but only after copy/pasting yours, did it work.
I cannot connect to "Personal Hotspot", but SideCar and "Import from..." now works fine!!!!
I will live without...
Thank you for your continuous input.
I've downloaded kexts from the link and replaced in /E/C/K/O
Firmware now uploads fine without BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext
Devices sync OTA again.
However, Personal Hotspot, Sidecar, etc. are still not working. I will try re-signing all devices with...
