@luckyal - Thanks so much for sharing that expertise & the suggestion on the RAID controller! I may actually check into that!

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Well, this isn't good news. And I'm not going to have time to test this for a while, as I'm in the middle of a video edit project. FWIW... my rule of thumb has always been: Unless a new BIOS turns on features you need, or fixes things that are broken, I always simply stick with the latest...

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Maybe a few more details on the exact steps in your process might help us troubleshoot a little better....?? For example, after you updated to F13b, what were your immediate next steps after the system reboot upon completion of the flashing?

Prohibited sign and couldn't allocate runtime area - need help. (Mojave)

I think I posted this somewhere else, but set the iGPU to Auto, use latest Lilu and Whatevergreen, and noVPAJpeg kexts, and then you should be OK...

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

One trick that works for me with other TB devices - after POST, and while your Clover screen is counting down, press a key to halt the countdown, and *then* connect your TB device. Once you see it powered up, then press whatever key you need to for continuing boot process. it's not the most...

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Yes - you should have this setting enabled. This plays into the whole issue of upper memory allocation errors that cause a halt when trying to boot. I think the setting is on the Peripherals page of the BIOS for this board (and similar)

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

+1 on noVPAjpeg. For my build, it requires all of the following so that Preview works and FCP boots: iGPA set to Auto Latest Whatevergreen Latest Lilu Latest noVPAjpeg (all kexts in Clover > Kexts > Other) My system is configured like this and all is working fine right now... FWIW...

[SUCCESS] Intel Core i9 7920X, Gigabyte X299 Aorus Ultra Gaming, GTX 1080 Samsung 960 EVO NVMe

For the boot loop thing, did you try checking FixShutdown in CC on the Acpi page? Also, I seem to recall a separate discussion about this issue on my Z370 AORUS and similar boards that have the LED lighting. I'll have to do some hunting on this, but there was one particular setting that caused...

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Another quick update: I'm working on a GA-based X299 build, and moved the GA AORUS RX580 card over to that build, since it's just going to be running all my recording studio/music production apps. This build is still doing video rendering, and the replacement card has a slight bit more...

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Sorry - for some reason I'm not getting email notifications on new posts... will have to check into that. I know this is going to sound sort of stupid, but try it anyway (this fix recently fixed a video/black screen issue for me on a new GA-X299 build I'm working on- might work here for your...

    BoomR's “Power UP” for 360/VR Production Build: GA-Z370 AORUS UG - i7 8700K - GA AORUS RX580

Try with iGPU set to Auto - that seems to work best for me right now. Also, are you booting into -v / verbose mode? Make sure to add this boot flag & then report back on what your error messages are right before prohibit symbol.

DAW Tips & Tricks: Optimizing Your CustoMac Audio Workstation

It's been a while since I posted that, and I've made some upgrades long the way. I'm actually now only using 3 drives: #1 = Boot drive & all apps (500 GB Samsung 970EVO m.2), #2 = Projects drive (now Samsung 850PRO SSD-500GB), and #3 = WD Red 3T NAS Hard Drive for all VST and sample libraries...

Unable to get sound through Audirvana DAC set-up

Is the NAD DAC officially supported under Mojave? Many audio apps & devices (especially older ones) require a bit of time before they are certified compatible with the latest macOS. FWIW....

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

I would not call any of the Antelope interfaces "...audio on a budget..." IMHO... (unless there was something announced at CES or NAMM recently)

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Greetings - Finally got the chance to download the generous gift of X299 Designare EX kext for USB. Installed this in what I thought was the right place (EFI > Clover > Kexts > Other.... vs. using something like KextWizard to install to S/L/E). I'm happy to report that all 4 of the USB3.1 Gen1...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Update on memory issues: After a couple troubleshooting steps, I ended up simply flipped the pairs to the opposite bank/slots & for whatever reason, all 32GB are recognized. **WHEW** So with the build firing on all cores, I'm pretty pleased thus far with this initial phase of stats, and have...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I'm HOPING that it's just a bad memory module (and not the mobo). Just removed & reseated all modules - same result. I'm using the user guide's recommended installation for 4 modules - I may try & switch all the DIMMS to all slots currently open now to troubleshoot whether it's the mobo, or...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Just did fresh install on Samsung 970 EVO (500GB) that arrived today. This is basic install - have not completed the subsequent fine-tuning instructions by @kgp in OP. Ran Geekbench 4 (latest), and notice something curious on the initial report: Only showed 24GB of DDR4...yet I have 32GB (4x8)...
