GA Z77-DS3H High Sierra pixel and glitch problem

If you want to stay with HS and Nvidia an used (cheap now) GTX 1050 maybe could help. I had an Pascal (web drivers needed) 1030 which worked very good, but that would be an speed downgrade to GTX 660TI. GTX 1060 would be an significant upgrade - for both games & gpu compute - GTX 1050 would...

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

Yep that is a real mystery - main gpu boost is only shown in GB OpenCL+Metal bench. Not shown in all other OpenCL+Metal benche / apps which have an bench points result, FPS counter etc. My RX 460 runs about 30% faster!!! - but only in GB bench. Even other benches may get lower boost by little...

MSI RX560 card to get me going

What ist your OS X Version? - since Mojave RX 560 should work. To avoid Blackscreen (& some other things like most ports working) you must use Whatevergreen ( together with LILU). disable any GPU related injects (Inject ATI / Radeoninit) and renames GFX0/PEGP ... (in ACPI part) of Clover. It...

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

Yep, its for all not good to see such probs of "copy" or "steal" things. But it can happen that two people have same idear or get inspired by someone else code and make a different versions with the same goal. I am sure both know much about the gpu stuff so i dont think about copy or steal...

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

Hi, i running an RX 560 - much slower than an RX 580. BUT when i use those Clover properties (Screenshoot) - i also get about 30% boost in Metal and! OpenCL Geekbench 5. Beside that, as some others reported, i cant see any boost in other OpenCL or Metal Benches. Sure the benches also OpenCL...

    macOS 10.15.3 Update

When you use VirtualSMC, you have two files: an .kext and an .efi Driver. Same as Fakesmc (whoch has beside the .kext ) also an SMCHelper.efi driver. Please use always only one bundle (.kext+ efi) never mix them and remove aways both (.kext + .efi) if you switch to other SMC method.

MAC OS Catalina Open CL vs Metal

To get (better) help, it would be good to tell which Video App you se (FCP, Davinci, Adobe...). Also what the Tool Videoproc https://www.videoproc.com (DEmo available) shows about h264 /hvec HW Enc (freen /red). Videoproc uses , as also HANDBRAKE (open Source) Apples API Videotoolbox for HW...

    What GPU beats AMD RX580?

Hi, if you don't have probs with a bit more watts, you could buy perhaps an used VEGA 56 or 64 - the Vega 64 will boost your gaming speed near to double FPS. And the VEGA can run already in Mojave (and 10.15 also). If you could get an used VEGA cheap, why not? Later in 2020 you could buy an RX...

    What GPU beats AMD RX580?

Running Mojave you could take AMD Vega 56 )about 40 % faster than RX 5800) or AMD Vega 64 ( around 90% faster, near double as fast). And of course the V II - very fast card near 3 times faster as RX 580, in gpu compute 3 times++ faster. BUT: At least the Vegas have an bad performnce(FPS)/ Watt...

Nvidia vs AMD for Adobe After Effects

Barefeats tested Macpro 2010 with AMD 5700 XT (newest OS X, Metal 2) against MacPro with NVIDIA Titan XP (old High Sierra OS X, lastest but old Mac CUDA) and also newest MacPro with AMD Dual runnning such Adobe 2020 tasks. Even the Titan XP is high rated against AMD 5700 XT, at least under OS...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

"I was doing that pressing reload button and once it turned green did the encode, it created a log file in the library/application support/videoproc where it said something like could not initialize videotoolbox" Yep, i had the same problem - iGPU headless - using SMBIOS imac13,2. Headless...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Here some Handbake speed tests (AMD Menue runnung in the Menue). HW h265 (API Videotoolbox) over 10 times faster than CPU only - with RX 460. 1. h265Videotoolbox Codec = HW Enc with AMD 460 = around 197 BPS Enc: Yes AMD GPU Load: 23% - HW Enc working doesn't mean the GPU always getting 100%...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

"I have found that though Videoproc says H264 Hardware acceleration enabled, Hackintool says VDA decoder fully supported at the time of encoding it is not able to use it, in Handbrake if I select H264 Videotoolbox codec it is not able to encode" Also Handbrale is very good to test in AMD HW Enc...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

@Rajkhand: The AMD GPU Menue Tool doenst need any extra kext. If the AMD GPU is used by compressor - its GPU Load on it but no HW Enc is aktive = NO it means Apple doenst use the HW Enc feature ( its like Quicksnyc an HW efture of the GPU) of the GPU but uses the GPU other way (Metal / OpenCL)...

Updated AMD GPU Menue (RX 4xx/4xx only!) to V0.8 - now shows also GPU HW Decoding aktiv = YES oder NO - Max Temp / Max Clk Values (Shown if you click on AMD Menue = are resetable - simple click in this max Values line PS: Davinci Resolve ( i use Mojave) shows both (Dec=YES on playing...

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

If you use Videoproc to check the export (not only the green/red Info ;) ) dont forget to disable the Auto Copy option! If source material - in case of Codec - is same as the export and AutoCopy is ON, the Export is an COPY PROCESS and not an real encoding job. PS: i made an usefull Menue...

WEG does have new code (since 2 hours), belongs to HVEC enc. Added HEVC capabilities to AMD6 decoders for all GPUs ( i think AMD6 means RX4xx/5xx GPUs) Code changes

Anyone tried RX 5700 (XT) with latest public beta?

Yep, because AMD stopped to build / sell them. Upcomming RX 5500 and later RX 5800 (V II follower) will make all happy - beside existing RX 5600/5700 as VEGA followers --- only Apple must do dome little driver work :)
