macOS 11.0 Big Sur Public Beta is Now Available

After playing with the public beta BS for roughly a day, I have decided to wait for a more stable version. I have encountered 4 application crashes (Maps, iMessage, News) in addition of the second hand of the widget clock moving backwards (at last reboot it seemed to work fine). I'm glad though...

macOS 11.0 Big Sur Public Beta is Now Available

Esafeddie, may I ask why the previous model removal from iCloud is required? I recall I had the same machine under 2 different models (obviously, different S/N, MLB, SMUUID) and I don’t recall encountering any issues. Eventually I removed the old model since I did not like the sausage of Mac...

macOS 11.0 Big Sur Public Beta is Now Available

Actually I find the BS beta version quite decent which is surprising for me. However, you’re right. I added yesterday the clock widget and the second hand runs backwards

macOS 11.0 Big Sur Public Beta is Now Available

I have to say that the installation experience of BS Public Beta has been such a disappointment for me. No thrill, no excitement! My experience has been like installing another Catalina upgrade :) Moreover, I have not used any bootable USB (i.e. have not populated the EFI partition on the USB...

You mean Sandy Bridge (2nd generation) :). More reason for you to be proud. Had the same motherboard but upgraded recently to 9th generation. Excellent MB! Edit: NM, it looks like starting with BIOS F11 it supports Ivy as well. Learning a new thing every day :)

    Random freezes in Hackintosh Catalina 10.15.1 Z390 ud & i9-9900K & Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8GB & Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB*2 3000Mhz CL15

Do you have Windows installed on the machine as well? If yes, have you experienced similar issues? On my side I have been experiencing similar issues with Gigabyte M Gaming MB but on both macOS Catalina and Windows 10. I have modified BIOS to not use Profile 1 with 3200MHz memory frequency (i.e...

    macOS 10.15.6 Update

:lol::lol: Bring it on! BTW, should we expect a lot of BS abbrv. being used once it’s officially launched? Of course I mean BS for Big Sur, not BS for BS

Yes. One for my son, one for my wife and one for me. Especially now when most of us are working from home.

Apple Previews macOS 11.0 Big Sur - Available Fall 2020

Wow! Unbelievable some of the negative and/or desperate comments in this thread. We can debate this and beat the dead horse until it dies one more time. Nothing changes that Apple moves to Apple Silicon. And nothing changes the fact that we will still be enjoying using CustoMacs for up to the...

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Thanks for confirming that the boot chime being cut short is due to OC version. I have been hunting for an answer on this for the past couple of days since I have enabled the OC GUI and boot chime.

    ALC892 audio doesn't work - macOS Catalina 10.15.3

While the sound works for me as expected with this card using layout-id 1 or 20, in both cases the output sound through the MB connectors is significantly weaker than the one through BT. I have a pair of Edifier speakers that work through 3.5mm jack connection as well as through BT. And the BT...

ASUS P5Q - Mavericks Installation Success

Thank you for this. The reality is that after using it for a while in a CustoMac, this nice MB has been running for years now Xpenology perfectly. :headbang: With that said, have you tried to use the versions of Multibeast, Chimera and system definition recommended in the first article?

    macOS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update

Yes, I can confirm that the theme works fine now for me with 5110. USB and BT also work. All kexts are up to date. The only thing I had was that I was prompted with the message that the package is not trusted and had to run it from Security & Privacy. I don't recall having to do that in the past...
