Reboot after deep sleep High Sierra

I'm having a similar issue. However, I think mine is related to the RAM; all 4 slots are taken up for a total of 32GB of RAM. Removing 2 sticks and having just 2x8gb sticks of RAM solved the problem. Something leads me to believe it might be an issue with power management / p states / c states...

[Solved] "sudo trimforce enable" not found

A proper speedtest benchmark would probably put the discussion to bed. If you are still getting nearly 500mb/s read/write speeds, then yeah you're good.

[Solved] "sudo trimforce enable" not found

I have two installs of High Sierra on two different drives; Intel 520 Series 180gb SSD and Samsung 860 EVO 500gb I tried the command line TRIM enabler method on the Intel SSD (it's my backup and testbed install in case anything fails or I need to try out software without bogging down my main...

Apple's Policy on Apple File System (APFS) for High Sierra

Only for NVME drives apparently, those recognize TRIM perfectly fine, but I'm on a 2.5" SATA drive and by default, TRIM is disabled. I've tried enabling TRIM (via terminal command) on my mom's MacBook Pro with an Intel SSD with High Sierra installed (APFS) and the system was spazzing out every...

[Solved] "sudo trimforce enable" not found

According to the Samsung specs page on the 860 EVO here, it has TRIM support and Auto Garbage collection. Not sure if that means built in...? This is all so confusing, so many comments all over the net saying they're ok with disabling TRIM, some say it's required, others say stay away from...

[Solved] "sudo trimforce enable" not found

Can you explain further? I've just installed High Sierra on a Samsung 860 EVO with APFS. Trim is disabled by default. Should I turn it on? And if so, is the clover method the only way or does the terminal command (sudo trimforce enable) have the same effect? I've thought about reinstalling with...

Apple's Policy on Apple File System (APFS) for High Sierra

Anyone know what method is best to enable TRIM in High Sierra running on APFS? Is the following terminal command still relevant? sudo trimforce enable I've been seeing people manually add TRIM via clover... is that really necessary? That said, is it still wise to install High Sierra on HFS...

What was your primary reason for building a hackintosh?

One of the main reasons for building mine was to give Apple the middle finger. I got sick with their restrictive ******** and decided it was high time to move to a superior machine.

    [SUCCESS] Yosemite on GA-Z97X-UD3H / i7-4790K / GTX 960

They definitely work, but.. I have a Kingston HyperX Fury White RAM. 32gb total; 4x8gb. If all 4 RAM slots on the motherboard are filled, OS X freezes at some point, either at boot, a few seconds after logging into OS X, a few hours later or even a day later. Windows 7, on the other hand, works...

    [SUCCESS] Yosemite on GA-Z97X-UD3H / i7-4790K / GTX 960

I gave up on the 32gb route, and stuck to just 2x8gb sticks. OS X runs without a single problem with two sticks of RAM.. I had an uptime of about 10 days. I don't quite need 32gb RAM, only got extra because it was on sale. I may try updating BIOS and/or switch to El Capitan via Clover and see...

How to know if my GTX 960 is working properly??

OpenGL support in OS X is pretty miserable anyway. Add to the fact that ported games over to OS X are done poorly and you're bound to get really crappy performance. Gaming should always be done in Windows.

    Mavericks Hackintosh Freezes

I'm on a Z97X-UD3H-BK. I've just had TWO freezes recently and both when I've duplicated the steps; Run VLC > play MP4 movie > Enlarge to Full Screen > Disconnect USB Mouse Moments later, the screen freezes. If I restart the comp, and leave the mouse in, it runs fine. (i wanted to play a movie...
