I'm Enabling Native NVRAM on my system.
When I "Remove Clover RC scripts (if installed) by typing these commands in Terminal: (be very careful)"
the terminal comes back at me with "File not found" on all of the RC Scripts. Must I change directory in the terminal before executing...
Thanks for the suggestions.
As soon as I temporarily moved my "EFI/Microsoft" folder into "EFI/Clover/Microsoft" the UEFI OS boot option became visible in the BIOS Boot order options and via F12 on a cold boot.
Some version of this issue has shown up on my rig before and it...
Just updated my BIOS to ver. 8. Now, suddenly, I can't find the UEFI OS on my Samsung 960 EVO. Clover is definitely installed there, and my "Windows 10 Boot Manager" shows up and boot just fine.
I'm able to boot into Clover and my Catalina install using my backup drive thankfully.
Why can't I...
I tried that and the machine stalls at the Splash Screen. I'm 100% back at r4961.
Ready to try the update again, just trying to figure out what went wrong the 1st time.
Since failure renders my machine unbootable I'm hesitant to try again till I understand where I went wrong.
I really think...
All these kexts are copied to EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS/OTHER as per the "Catalina Fresh Install.zip" . I'm sure you're not suggesting I put them in both locations.
Sorry I know this is confusing (especially for me..).
So if I do follow " Step 1, Bullet #4 in the Catalina Mini-Guide to update Clover." it says to match this screen from the installer which is what is installing "AptioMemoryFix.efi" to my new clover install. I'm thinking now I shouldn't follow Bullet #4 so precisely?
I moved Lilu, AppleALC, Whatevergreen & VirtualSMC kexts out of L/E back to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/other. I am wondering
if my problem stems from some leftover old kexts in L/E? Here's a screenshot. I'm thinking I can ditch the old "USBInjectAll.kext" at least..
Alright I followed along to the best of my abilities and crashed at the Splash Screen where I received the message "Legacy AptioMemoryFix detected". I tried removing that from the "CLOVER/drivers/UEFI" folder and it then would stall at the Splash screen upon boot. I restored my EFI from a...
I'm assuming that I would in fact select "Install RC scripts on target volume" when following Step 1, Bullet #4 as I'm not installing to a USB drive but updating my actual boot drive. Correct?
Thanks Again CaseySJ.
I'm running CLover r4961 and am looking to get current (5103) and know there have been some changes I need to be aware of before updating. I've looked thru the threads on this post but was wondering of there was any guide somewhere
I may have missed for this update as I know things have moved...
Yes, I did resolve my SATA issues, but it's been so long now I can't quite remember how. I did install a 4-Port SATA 6G PCI Express 2.0 Host Adapter back in March of 2019 so that could have been it. I do have far too many SATA devices on my rig, but everything is running well so I'm not going...
Yeah Apple TV worked great, no doubt.
The Music App, not so much..
I was able to recover my "Music" Library with the help of a TimeMachine backup.
Perhaps after I update my bootable clone startup disk I'll mess with it again.
Live and learn.
No I didn't change my SMBios.
I simply used the boot arg as instructed.
Trying to use a "TimeMachine" backup to undo the drm/privilege changes that "shikigva=16" made to my system. Any thoughts on which folder or folders I should restore? I tried the obvious "user/Music" folder and that...
Yes it's actually wreaked absolute havoc on my "Music" Library. I've had to restore the "Music Library" on my system 375gb worth and have lost all my custom made "playlists" from the last several years. If I ever want to sync my iPhone again I'll have to allow "Music" to remove and restore all...
Just tried this (iMac 19,1) and it works great. Only trouble is my iTunes library is now empty. I have several thousand cd rips on an external drive and even if I reset my "Music Media Folder Location" in prefs they fail to show up. Any thoughts?
Fixed: (I think) Ughhh I had to re-Import 375gb...
