The audio mute button (Fn + F7) does work. And so does the volume up and down (Fn + F8/F9).
I just gave the Sinetek-rtsx.kext a try. I used the kext folder from the github repository:
For a simple try I just copied the kext to...
I had a brief look at your Clover folder. The only thing I noticed from a glance is that in the kext folder all those 10.x are still present. But I guess that's not the reason why sleep is not working.
So you'd need somebody more experienced and skilled than me to make sense of those problem...
thanks for the feedback! It's a real motivation to hear that I could help.
And I can only agree. What RehabMan has put together made this a perfectly working hackintosh.
Have fun with your new installation!
Update 12th July 2019:
Lets add some additional functionality.
Enable "custom HighDPI scaling"
I really like about the HP 820 G3 that it offers a non-glossy FullHD IPS screen. But the drawback of this display is, that contents can be very tiny with 1920 x 1080 pixels at 12.5". For me...
This guide is mainly based upon the marvelous work done by RehabMan and his two excellent guides:
[Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover (last edited: Oct 27, 2018)
[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (last edited: Nov 27, 2018)
When you already have a working installer it should be possible to copy missing files, like additional kexts, efi-driver or config.plist to the EFI-Partition of the USB stick (its FAT32). But for creating the installer a working macOS is obligatory.
Thank you Feartech!
You're right I didn't include this efi driver. I misunderstood the guide as this driver was not explicitly mentioned in the list:
For Clover UEFI, run the Clover Installer package:
- if using MBR, select the target of the install to "CLOVER EFI" using "Change Install...
thanks for your reply! I followed your suggestion and used the latest version of Clover: Clover_v2.4k_r4972.zip
Now it crashes quite early during the boot process and executes an automatic reboot. Recording a video I've been able to get the last message:
Then the screen goes...
I'm trying to install macOS Mojave 10.14.5 on my HP Elitebook 820 G3. Currently it's running Sierra 10.12.6 very well. So Mojave should also work, but currently the USB installer already takes for ever to boot up. I created the Installer according to RehabMans excellent guide using...
thanks for your excellent guides!
I want to install Mojave on my Elitebook 820 G3 (Intel HD Graphics 520) according to your other guide (currently running Sierra). But there is one point that's not fully clear to me concerning DVMT and config.plist patches. You wrote:
Applying the security update: SecUpd2018-001ElCapitan
I just installed the latest security update, SecUpd2018-001ElCapitan.dmg, and want to share my experience, as I ran into some trouble. Actually I consider this an very important update as this fixes serveral critical bugs:
- WLAN security...
Sorry have not checked this thread, as I wrote it more for documentational purpose. As this question is quite old I'll the answer is probably not to usefull anymore, but none the less:
- I don't use iCloud or iMesage, actually I used the Apple Autonomous System Number to block all Apple IPs in...
I just wanted to say a big "Thank you!" for your HP guide!!!
Using your guide I've been able to get a (near) perfectly working system. I also write this down for documentational purpose for others with an identical system. In my case it's been:
Model: HP Elitebook 820 G3
Thanks a lot for your reply!
Exactly what I wanted to know. I would probably be very annoyed by this behavior. Especially as I switch between dark shells and bright IDEs. Otherwise this had been the perfect portable notebook :(
I'm very interested in this notebook (thinking about a used one). But still there is one issue with the hardware (not exactly OS X related) that I'd like to know about before I buy one. I'd be very glad if someone could give me a hint. My question is the as follows:
The backlight of all XPS 13...
I just saw, that jhawk also offers an El Capitan package in his Asus UX305FA Yosemite thread. I had not seen this package before. So you could essentially just use his package also.
Stupid me! But better having one extra thread for El Capitan in the right forum.
during the last days I tried to install OS X El Capitan to my ASUS Zenbook UX305FA. As I had major trouble with the hot patching method (from a different guide) I want to start a new thread, hoping that it's useful to somebody else as well.
This thread is based upon two previous...
You're absolutely correct, I used a different method from hot pachtes. Can't deny this.
But you can have a look at my first post (#401) I was trying following this guide here. With this guide I couldn't boot the system after installation. And your hint about _PRW patching was great, so of...
