[TOOL] Radeon RX 5700 (XT) PowerPlay Table Generator (OC, UV, Fan Curve)

I wouldn't touch fan speed on macOS since there is no way to get detailed temperature readout. I recommend reducing the GPU voltage for less heat. Doing so fans will become quieter as well.

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Polaris cards don't support PowerPlay Tables. I tried it together with others who use a Polaris card. There is a PowerPlay Table inside the VBIOS but injecting a customized table does nothing. So the only way to customize Polaris cards on macOS is by editing their VBIOS. There are plenty of...

[TOOL] Radeon RX 5700 (XT) PowerPlay Table Generator (OC, UV, Fan Curve)

I am not sure. I bought the Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC which has heavy coil whine in Windows but not under macOS even on stock settings. I can only tell you that undervolting massively reduces fan noise under full load. Just experiment with it and you surely will find the perfect settings for...

Jeesh, what kind of config is this? I am surprised your machine works at all. Please attach the whole Clover folder and provide an ACPI dump as well as a IOJones dump.

Of course. Look at the power consumption drop. Also gives you better performance since the card can hold its boost frequency. Without undervolting it does thermal throttling which results in framerate dips below the 60fps range.

[TOOL] Radeon RX 5700 (XT) PowerPlay Table Generator (OC, UV, Fan Curve)

I did it again! With the release of the Navi drivers for macOS by Apple I bought a card and ported my popular PowerPlay Table generators to the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT. Some might know I already did the same for V56/64 and Radeon VII. This tool allows you to change GPU, SoC and Memory Clocks...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

You don't need any PowerPlay Table. Fan control works OOB with macOS starting from 10.14.5. If for whatever reason you wanna use a PowerPlay Table though, do not use VGTab. First and foremost: That Kext solution is dirty and not even update proof. You override the AMD10000Controller using that...

Looks like Navi support will be in the next update

Yes eGPU.io users tried it. Drivers are not included. They simply forgot about it. Apple's software team is a big mess.

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

Use iMacPro1,1 for HEVC acceleration. But you won't be able to get sidecar working. Macs without IGPU use the T2 chip to encode the Sidecar video signal for whatever reason. Maybe there will be a fix for this in he future to force Sidecar rendering on a DGPU.

Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

The reason for the issues you guys describe is a bug in Apple's Safari DRM that somehow only affects Polaris cards. I doubt Apple will fix this any time soon since Safari DRM only works with AMD GPUs with hardware acceleration support on macOS in iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS. Since the iMacPro1,1 uses a...

Looks like Navi support will be in the next update

Unfortunately what Apple claims isn't true. No changes to supported GPUs in 10.15.1 DEV Beta 1. RadeonX6000 is missing, 5700(XT) device IDs are not included anywhere, Navi cards are not recognized as before. Looks like they either published that changelog by mistake or simply forgot to include...

[TOOL] Radeon VII PowerPlay Table Generator (OC, UV, Fan Curve)

Recommendation: Set the parameters PP_DisableDIDT=1 (Number) and PP,PP_DisableULV=0 (Number) in addition to your PowerPlay Table. This gives a significant performance boost and reduces power consumption further. The performance boost is especially noticeable in some games. For the DisableULV...
