Pity. Didn't work on my 8570w with Nvidia K1000m on 10.11.
But then again the card isn't listed as supported.
On Yosemite I have HDMI audio listed in About my Mac an in Sys Pefs Audio but not so El Capitan.
More specifically how to format a text file to put it under de patch button in MaciASL.
Creating a working patch takes more than that like good knowledge of BIOS, DSDT and SSDT and how they interact. Good knowledge of ACPI would come in handy too.
But that link points to usefull information too.
How should a text file be formatted for successfully patching a DSDT or SSDT by using it with MaciASL's Patch button. I see some /n placed, but where to put them?
It probably also needs info where to place the patch in the DSDT or SSDT?
Short update regarding Brightness control. I have been able to dim the screen by using a free app from the app store called Brightness Slider which is meant to be used on desktop Macs I believe. Maybe the laptop screen seems to be treated as a external monitor. Still not the perfect solution but...
What do the lines above mean and do?
Will they get AppleBacklightDisplay loaded and my laptop screen recognised?
Do other properties need to be injected? What is DSDT _DSM+DTGP?
Can these lines just be added to the DSDT? If so, at what position?
A newbie like me doesn't know where to look in the ioreg, but you can off course.
Will you please look in the attached files.
Will the DSDT patching in PBI-CE remove _BCL,BQC,BCM from the DSDT? What methods for screen brightness control are available?
I also have a feeling that the display...
On my search to get brightness control working I found that_BCL, _BQC, _BCM are important. I couldn't find these in my DSDT. Can someone tell me where to look for them. A SSDT perhaps? I also have no Applebacklight or ACPIbacklight.kext on my laptop. PNLF is in the DSDT. I found a GFX0 device at...
I have my 10.11 installation now up to a level that it is good for daily use. Some features like screen brightness control are not working yet. I like to make a easily restorable or bootable backup of this configuration. Can you guys tell me how to do that and what tools to use. It would be nice...
I still need to get used to the UEFI "thing". And what consequences it has when moving from Legacy to UEFI. At the moment I have 10.11 on the first disk and Win 10 on the second disk in the upgrade bay. When I booted the laptop yesterday it showed the clover screen with mac os and windows 10...
The second disk is a clone of the first disk and contains a MacOSX partition with hidden Clover and a FAT partition. So it has content on it. When Windows 10 was on it Mac OS X would boot normally.
The disk was cloned with clonezilla.
I should be possible to have a second disk with Mac OS X on...
Thanks for this info. Even though I have a bit other hardware, Nvidia only on my laptop, it doesn't hurt to read and learn a little from the links you provide. There is a lot of info in there and I get at least a feeling what is going on.
