    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Found some previous posts of people getting stuck at gIOSCreenLockState 3, hs0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 but those all seem to be related to iGPU while I'm using a dGPU to drive the HDMI output.

Thanks, adding -v worked. This is the last screen before it goes black at startup.

Having a hard time getting verbose mode to come up. CMD-V after selecting the start up drive in the OC chooser right? It seems to ignore the input. No XMP is active. BIOS is F9i and CFG Lock is off. OpenCore is version 0.8.3 Other than that my BIOS setting are as they were when I did my...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I've followed all of the steps in the guide, and, when I try to load OpenCore, the sequence goes like this: BIOS -> Select OC USB Drive -> OC Disk Chooser -> Reset NVRAM -> BIOS -> Select OC USB Drive again -> OC Disk Chooser -> Select main startup/Catalina drive -> Apple logo, progress bar...

Im working on switching from Clover to OpenCore so i can update the OS and I used the above steps to create a USB drive but I cant boot into MacOS. I get the Apple logo and progress bar on a black screen and then a fully black screen. Using BIOS F9i and CFG-Lock is disabled.

HackinDROM App for OpenCore EFI Creation and Update

Currently trying to switch from Clover to OpenCore so I can update my OS from Catalina. Im using HackinDROM to generate a new EFI folder. I started with a Monterey installer USB and created an OC EFI folder on the USB EFI partition. When I try to boot from that partition it gets to the black...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Yeah, my first though was a bad f_panel switch or connector but I get the same behavior when f_panel is disconnected and I power on by momentarily jumping the power headers.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Once the cycle ends and I get to the BIOS screen the computer boots into macOS with no issues and is stable until the next shutdown. Restarting works as well. Yes, this only happens when shutting down with the menu or switch. The two LEDs that alternate during this error are CPU and DRAM...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm not sure if this issue is related to hackintoshing but this is my first PC build so I'd appreciate any ideas. Whenever I attempt to shutdown my computer, it will enter a pre-BIOS power on/off loop (see video). This happens either when using the f_panel switch or when using the software...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

How do you enable the DGPU instead of the iGPU for video processing? I'm running a i9-9900k with the Designare mobo and a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 with OS 10.15.1. I tried both iMac19,1 and iMacPro1,1 and while H264 processing and HEVC works with both configurations it appears that it only uses...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ Thank you for starting this thread and writing the guid. Ive been able to set up a working 10.15.1 system following your steps. However, Ive run into some trouble backing up with CCC. Using a 1TB NVMe as startup and an internal SATA SSD, I followed the guide to create a bootable...

    Sleep/Wake issues Mac18,3 Mojave & Catalina

Im running 10.15.1 with a LG 27UK650-W monitor and I was having the same issue until I moved the HDMI input from the top port to the bottom port on the screen. Test sleep/wake seems to be working, we'll see how it works overnight.
