Can't Update to Sonoma "The update cannot be installed on this computer"

I've been using my computer with Ventura no problems, installing every single update without issues. I always keep Opencore updated (now to 0.9.6) and kext updated. Never a problem. Now if I try to upgrade to Sonoma I get this error as the update starts to download: The update cannot be...

Choosing a Compatible NVMe SSD for your macOS Boot Drive

I'm on Ventura, yes trim is "true" in system report. Just wondering if it could have potential problems in the long term, cause till now worked fast and flawlessly as a data drive

Choosing a Compatible NVMe SSD for your macOS Boot Drive

I would really like to understand better this topic. I'm a content creator and rely on my 980 pro as a data disk. After more than one year and about 65% drive space used it still reads and writes with proper speed. I would just like to know if trim is working or not... I mean if the drive has...

Choosing a Compatible NVMe SSD for your macOS Boot Drive

Hi, what about the 980 PRO as a data drive? As I've been using it on my system as a second data (not cache) drive and haven't run into any issue, after more than one year disk speed test still runs with as-new speed.

    Post macOS/OS X Geekbench Benchmarks

Hallo, does you cpu reports full speed while running Cinebech? I'll explain, I got an 13600K which goes to 5.1Ghz full speed, but during Cinebench it goes up and down, like 4,7 then 4,9, then 5, then 4,6...and so on, it is preperly cooled with a Noctua and never goes above 70c. Still I get 23000...

    Video Editing & Postproduction Build: i9-12900K - 128GB RAM - Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite - RX 6800 XT 16GB

Hi, sure I already generated a new SMBIOS for you (if someone else downloads it please generate a new one) I added agdpmod=pikera because of your RX6600 I updated processor name to 12700K This is my USB port mapping (reds are disabled): All should be fine, let me know

Low Metal Score at fresh boot with "Pro" SMBIOS, could you try?

I see in that post many were getting crazy and blaming Ventura...while a little nap on the machine would "solve" the problem :). Just very curious to know why that happens only on "pro" smbios... and would also really love to see if using real apps shows any real difference before or after...

Low Metal Score at fresh boot with "Pro" SMBIOS, could you try?

Thanks for the reply! Other tests gives same results before and after sleep. OpenCL tests are fine. Tried GFX bench Metal, and even there there seems to be no difference in scores before or after sleep (even though they look really low). Can't really know if apps perform better after sleep, no...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

If it reads the usb stick it works, doesn't make any change to try another port imho... Looks like a bios setting problem...but if you followed this guide you should be ok... let's try to wait someone else's help...I don't have any other suggestion from here unfortunately! Just to try, I was...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Yes it is slightly different but I modified it for my system. But if it has something different, boot related, than we can adjust it to your needs. Try it (I already generated a random SBIOS for you, iMacPro1,1, this is what I use, less patches needed and it works well). It also has my usb port...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I'm using a 13th gen too, the only difference for me to boot was to add SetupVirtualMap. If you want share your EFI so me or others as well can check it This is before ProvideCurrentCpuInfo has been added I guess, not needed anymore

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I've been in that nightmare, too! I'm a professional photographer and NEED Lr to work! But with an Z490 motherboard, where only AppleIntelI210Ethernet.kext and boot arg did the fix! I was almost at the point to buy a Mac Studio, but that little issue got me back on this forum...and I got...

For newer BIOS you need: booter - SetupVirtualMap set to ON, maybe that's the problem

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I think you just have to add cpuid data as the processor won't be automatically recognized. And use a "pro" SMBIOS. But do you already have it? Otherwise a better update, with little little more money would be a z690 ddr4 motherboard with an 13600K/KF. More powerful, much cooler.

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Try this EFI and let me know. Make sure VT-D is enabled in BIOS. (I deleted a couple of huge size kexts that you were not using, to slim down the EFI file size). Try it as it is, if it doesn't work try to re-enable SSDT-DMAC.aml only (mine was working without SSDT-DMAR.aml) Yes!

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Are they still recommended anyway? Or are iMacPro1,1 frequency vectors (thay many use) the top choice for 12th or 13th gen CPU?

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Hi, exactly what happened to me! Monterey 12.6.1 was ok, but then 12.6.2 was released and it has the same problem as Ventura 13.1! I fixed it by using AppleIntel210Ethernet.kext, deleting the device properties and adding e1000=0. Also make sure VT-D is enabled in BIOS and set DisableIoMapper to...
