Okay on test Drive I now have audio working using latest AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler1.kext.
You need to check o.c.B.p (org.chameleon.Boot.plist) and makes sure you have no HDAenabler settings in there, or HDaudio settings. If you do delete them.
Delete the SSDT-1.aml if you have it in /Extras...
i need 50 posts to be able to send a PM.
I deleted AppleHDA.kext and HDAenabler.kext from S/L/E
Ran kext Utility to repair permissions rebuild caches.
Dropped SSDT-1 into /Extra with existing SSDT
Installed v2.3.9 of AppleHDA.kext using Kext Utility
Then rebooted and had audio.
(also put...
Hey toleda, thanks for correcting that error. Much appreciated.
I have done this about 20 times, and repaired permissions and rebooted each time. The result is the same. No Input/Output on builtin audio. So while what I did to get audio running may be ugly, it does work.
(FYI, my audio info...
I have precisely the same issue, but only on a first gen ASUS P8Z68vPro.
Upgrade went relatively okay, I just had an issue with FAT32 and NTFS drives that disappeared. However audio was working fine. So in trying to sort the disappearing drives I ran the latest Multibeast.
Now I have no...
Cheers to beelzebozo for the post, and mauga for the direct download link. :headbang:
Have installed it on my Hack and on the powermac at work :-)
There are a few little things that mark it out as a beta, no sfx for the horses hooves when riding, quest panels can be a bit sluggish opening and...
Success on P8Z68-vPro.
Ran ACPIrollback as per Micr0shaft's post. (page 6 of comments or quote in post above)
Upgraded using Combo Update, reran Multibeast to get audio.
All stable, patched iPhoto to 9.4
11590 on Geekbench (32bit)
You can run Windows fine with the flashed bios. The changes to the bios have no effect on Windows at all.
I have been using the bios mod from the day it went up and have never had any problems, and that was months ago.
The condensed version from netkas forum is that 69xx series cards DO NOT work on their own in Mountain Lion.
Apparently you can get one work by using either the on CPU graphics, or a helper card to get past the white screen bug.
I couldn't get my 6950 to work so I am looking at selling it and...
If you follow the directions in Colton328's thread, you will be able to get your install to work.
It is after the install that I ran into the white screen problem, and had to go researching and found out that HD69xx have a major flaw.
Best of luck, and let us know how you get on.
I think you will find that Photoshop is one of the apps that has problems.
Having one display working would also fit with what others have found happens.
If you want to get away from needing NullCPUmanagement all together you can flash your BIOS with one from samisnakes repository.
With a patched BIOS you don't need NullCPU kext or Patched Appleintelpowermanagement.kext
I have had mine patched for months and it works fine. :)
Edit: LOL there...
You will probably get no joy using the HD6950's. :|
You can read the full road of torture at netkas.org
In a nutshell HD6970/50's need a helper card or onboard GPU to get past the white screen bug in ML.
Even then some apps that use 3D either don't work well or have artifact problems...
HD6970 and HD6950 are known not to work without the assistance of a helper card or onboard GPU.
If you want the full story read this thread at netkas.org (Be warned it is 54 pages long, ML findings start about page 28). You will probably need a package of modified kexts that netkas made that...
Not to worry!
I have spent the day reading through the 6970/6950 forum thread over at netkas.
Turns out that the white screen stall is the standard for these 2 cards.
It can be got around by using a helper card or onboard GPU and some modified kexts from netkas, but will not run OOB with...
I have the P8Z68 V Pro with modded BIOS, so I don't know that my experiences are much help.
I can get an install working, but my issue is with my HD6950, which just white screens on me.
Back when I did mod the bios I forgot to remove NullCPUManagement kext and couldn't boot, but once I got rid...
Still no joy!! :-(
Started completly from scratch but no go. Have tried all manner of flags, PCIRootUID=0, grahicsenabler=no, etc, etc to no avail.
The card is detected correctly, and it loads default config of Gibba and 5 ports which is right, so I don't know.
And now it's 1.30am so I'm going...
Sorry mate, got a better offer from the missus so we went to bed. :P:thumbup:
And to answer your earlier question, it was a straight clean install on blank drive.
The install was sweet with on board, but just got a white screen after putting the HD6950 back in.
Will give it another go and see...
