    AsRock X299 Creator

Thanks, @oli.mathieu! After updating OC, can you update to BS 11.1 normally or using @TheBloke's workaround? Cheers!

    AsRock X299 Creator

@oli.mathieu, have you upgraded to BS 11.1 yet? And which OpenCore? I am still stuck on 11.0.1 on OC 063... Thanks!

    X299 Big Sur Support

When I tried the upgrade with my SATA SSD, it happened exactly as you described, and I selected the Macintosh HD when it showed up. The process went as if it's was updating properly, and the Macintosh HD disappeared on the following reboot. However, when I selected my SSD on the final reboot...

    X299 Big Sur Support

Just tried upgrading from my SATA SSD, it didn't work either:-( @TheBloke, we'll probably need some of your magic work here... (BTW, my Threadripper Ryzentosh finished the upgrade without any issue...)

So, the BS 11.1 is out. Just tried upgrading directly on my nvme drive... the upgrade process seemed to run through normally, but after the restart, it's back at 11.0.1! So, this broken nvram saga continues...:mad:

For your problem 3, did you try setting "Wake to Lan" off in the BIOS?

    X299 Big Sur Support

Wait! Just checked my 2020 MBP 13"... It's the same... with a broken seal but the snapshot seal is okay:rolleyes:

    X299 Big Sur Support

So, I can confirm that both my X299 and cMP5,1 hacks have the same status: broken seal but the snapshot seal is okay! I wonder if this is the main reason I am asked to sign back in to my iCloud account almost all the time on my hacks...?

    X299 Big Sur Support

@oli.mathieu There's no way to update from Catalina directly to Big Sur due to the VNRAM problem (as highlighted [email protected]). You have to use a hack or a real Mac without the T2 chip and a SATA SSD (nvme drives WILL NOT work). I used my Opencore-hacked cMP5,1 Mac for the job. (BTW, I need to...

    X299 Big Sur Support

Thanks for the clarification, @thenightflyer! Is the USB drive disconnection error message a common Hack issue or just with my EFI?

    X299 Big Sur Support

Do they resolve the USB drive disconnection problem/warning when the machine goes to sleep? I get the same warning for my thunderbolt drive, the drive will reconnect by itself when the machine wakes up...

    X299 Big Sur Support

@pieropontra I have no issue connecting dual monitors to my Radeon VII or 5700XT. On Netflix, I am NOT seeing the 4K option that I normally see on Apple TV. And I don't see any configuration option from the website. Not sure if Netflix needs to update its services to Safari...? FYI: the LG...

@TheBloke Did you have any luck getting a 6800XT in the UK? No such luck for me in the States...

And here's my EFI... The best thing about the Asrock X299 Creator is that its built-in Thunderbolt ports are hot pluggable!

    X299 Big Sur Support

This saga is finally coming to end... but with one more twist! I had to rely on my cMP5,1 to run the installer because of the SATA SSD (as reminded by @TheBloke). After I got the SSD upgraded and rebooted on my X299, I got this panic:mad::mad:... Before I gave up, I thought I should try using...

Oh, good to know! I do have an old SATA SSD... that I will just plug it into the SATA port. Fingers crossed!

Okay, I will redo the install with a newer MacBook Pro and let it run all the way this time... I am using a m.2 vnme drive with a USB adapter. Thanks again!
