Which NAS do you use with your Hackintosh ?

I've been using Synology for seven years now: a DS216se and a DS918+ without a single problem. Both over DSM7, plenty of features for my usage & very reliable!

Big Sur 11.6.3 update doesn't appear...

Solved by enabling SIP (csr-active-config=00000000 in Opencore's config.plist) and clearing NVRAM at boot. Just in case someone else finds this problem. Thanks anyway!

Big Sur 11.6.3 update doesn't appear...

Hi there! I'm on 11.6.1 and since then no updates pop up. Tried enabling auto updates in System Preferences to no avail. Also tried command line but the update doesn't appear. Strangely enough Safari 15.3 update appeared and installed correctly yesterday, but no way to update to 11.6.3...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Hi there! Thanks a lot for all your help! Finally I solved the problem and I would like to tell you how I did it. In complete desperation, I started having a look at UBSInjectAll's plist, and I found that some sysdefs have more info that others. Concretely, I found that iMac16,1 and iMac16,2...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Agree. Now I've switched to iMac17,1 as suggested. iMac15,1 was also a good choice but in the long run iMac17,1 will last till latest Intel-supported macOS is published. Yes, I already use a SSDT for power management. It's a must! After the change to iMac17,1 I had a look at IOReg to check...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Hi again! In response to your first question, I need the EHCI renames since the DSDT.aml extracted via Clover refers to the EHCI controllers as "EHC1" and "EHC2". Following your advice I've disabled my DSDT.aml and enabled the Renames, and attached is the .ioreg file as well as the EFI folder...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

My DSDT includes EH renames and USB properties injection, as well as injection of properties for other devices. I extracted the original DSDT via Clover and then applied MaciASL patches that are still available online for older mobos. If you want the original to compare, just let me know...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Hi! 1) Attached you have my EFI folder. There are many kexts but in my config.plist only the necessary ones are enabled depending on what I'm testing. Regarding Library/Extensions, I don't have access to the computer right now but I remember it has very little kexts, all Apple-related. I'll...

Hi and Happy New Year! Any ideas on my issue? Thanks in advance!

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Hi again! I tried with the new guide and this time I didn't remove the hubs, and now they appear in the USBPorts.kext generated by Hackintool. However, no HSxx ports appear under the EHxx hubs. Could it be a "connector type" issue? Looking at the Info.plist within USBPorts.kext, I'm not sure...

A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Custom USB SSDT

Hi there! I'm having some problems configuring my USB over an old H77-DS3H Gigabyte mobo. The problem is more related to the EH01 and EH02 controllers, since they only have "PR01" and "PR12" devices (no "HSxx" at all), so I just don't know how to map those ports. Their addresses appear on...

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

Hi there! Currently I'm using toleda's method to enable native GPU power management on my RX580 (build details in my signature, Coffee Lake build). I remember having to edit toleda's kext to add board-ID and other settings on its info.plist. I have downloaded your dAGPM.kext and I've found the...

    ultrazone's Coffee Lake Build: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 - Intel Core i7 8700K - 2 x AMD Sapphire RX580 8Gb - 32Gb RAM

I don't enable Trim. Should I nowadays? I thought it was only necessary when SSD's appeared some years ago. I heard about it, but I've never used it. Is there any report and/or evidence that it will help? Thanks!

    AMD Radeon Performance Enhanced SSDT

Hi there! Quick question here: I'm using dual RX580 in my system (Coffee Lake build in my signature over Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra 2). So... will both graphic cards benefit from the tricks mentioned in this thread? Or will I have to do something special for both to work at max performance? Of...

    ultrazone's Coffee Lake Build: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 - Intel Core i7 8700K - 2 x AMD Sapphire RX580 8Gb - 32Gb RAM

Hi there! As I said before, and given the requests I've received, I have updated the OP to include my EFI folder for OpenCore. Beware this setup is heavily customised and probably it won't boot your system (it contains DSDT patches, SSDT for USB and many other small configurations), but in...

    ultrazone's Coffee Lake Build: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 - Intel Core i7 8700K - 2 x AMD Sapphire RX580 8Gb - 32Gb RAM

OpenCore users: just update to 10.15.3 in my spare drive without any problem. If anyone is interested I'd be glad to upload my OpenCore's EFI folder. Beware my system is highly tuned (and thus the EFI folder) so it won't work for yours, but it could serve as a starting point. Cheers!

    ultrazone's Coffee Lake Build: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 - Intel Core i7 8700K - 2 x AMD Sapphire RX580 8Gb - 32Gb RAM

Yes! I started playing with OpenCore 0.5.3, later 0.5.4 and last week I updated to 0.5.5. Certainly the learning curve is steep, but if you understand how Clover works it is not so difficult. Right now OpenCore 0.5.5 is working pretty good, booting both Mojave 10.14.6 and Catalina 10.15.2, just...

    ultrazone's Coffee Lake Build: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 - Intel Core i7 8700K - 2 x AMD Sapphire RX580 8Gb - 32Gb RAM

I'm about to try the new OpenCore boot loader over my spare SSD drive for playing around with it... anyone tried this boot loader over a build similar to mine (Z370 chipset, i7-8700k CPU and RX580 8Gb)? Thanks in advance!

    i7 8700k / z370 (Unstable)

I was thinking the same... And what about your RAM sticks? Did you test them? They could also be the culprit... Again, my two cents!
