    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I did follow the links and made sure to do all the steps mentioned. Still I get the black screen. Got latest versions of Lilu whatevergreen and AppleALC, rebuilt the cache, and replaced whatevergreen in the /L/E/ folder.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I installed Mojave previously using your guide and it's working fine. Now that I'm trying to update my display turns off after the Apple logo and progress bar (The first cycle), I wait a little and the computer restarts. I followed your suggestions before updating. I have the same motherboard...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi CaseySJ, Thanks again for the nice guide!! Is there a way to check if the iGPU is really handling some compute tasks? I have attached a screenshot from VideoProc and it says that both H264 and HEVC hardware acceleration are available. But it's not showing anything about iGPU. Is it possible...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks, from the attached screen shot it looks like it's working. I have another question: in my previous builds I used to be able to monitor fan speed for the gpu and motherboard fans using either istat menus or hwmonitor. If I recall correctly one of the FakeSMC sensor kexts is responsible...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi CaseySJ, I have followed your guide up until the post installation part but my system report is very different from yours. The only difference from your build is that I don't have the Broadcom module installed yet and my CPU is 9900k. Also I can't see iGPU in the graphics/displays section...

Good GPU for Photoshop and a 4K display

I use Lightroom with Intel 5820K and GTX 1060. I really can't see a difference with graphics acceleration enabled/disabled. The photos I work with are 42MP though.

Apple Previews iMac Pro: The Fastest Mac Ever

What I find strange is that these iMac Pros only support up to 18 cores which leads me to believe that they will be using Xeon E5 V3 (which has a maximum core count of 18). I can't think of a reason for using Xeon E5 V4 and not offering the 22 core highest CPU other than thermal limitation of...

Mine is working perfectly after enabling CSM except for sleep/wake. But the display does wake up after being turned off.

I completely turned off my auto sleep in system preferences and checked using the terminal command "pmset -g". I don't know why you don't understand computer sleep, it's self explanatory. It is even mentioned in energy saver settings "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the...

Try enabling CSM and put everything to UEFI under CSM and see if it solves the problem. It did in my case

The display sleep thing has nothing to do with the computer sleep. The CSM issue I was referring to is when I just put my displays to sleep, they won't wake up (Not the computer to sleep). I mean that if computer sleep works, it only works once. Sometimes it does not work even one time.

One strange thing is that if my display goes to sleep and I leave it for more than 5 minutes (I measured, 5 minutes exactly) the display won't wakeup. I have been struggling with this for few days now and I read somewhere that enabling CSM may help and sure it did. I enabled CSM and put...
