I read through this thread but it appears that most instructions are clover specific. I'm trying to dual or even triple boot a Dell 5379 which will share the same 1tb ssd. Is there a way to do this without disrupting current Big Sur installation?
I bought a MacBook Pro and wanted to save time by using migration assistant. Is it possible to connect my existing Z390 hack via TH3 in Target Disk Mode to the new M1 MacBook Pro to do this?
Here's the screenshot of all of the USB devices. I got rid of Windows completely, but plan to re-install eventually. Do you know of any Linux live distros that can be of help with checking the camera functionality?
Interesting. I had previously tried BrightnessKeys.kext but couldn't get the keys to work. With your EFI, they work no problem. I wonder if order of kexts or some redundant settings with SSDT were preventing the functionality.
Almost everything, including touchscreen works with Big Sur...
Attached. I'm including the newest one that has everything working except F11/F12 Brightness keys and Camera.
Side note on an unrelated topic. Since posting here, I made a few discoveries which I posted about on another thread, but those relate to iGPU acceleration performance. You can read...
No significant impact on battery. I'm 4 hours in and have 33% left on a 42Ah Dell battery. Screen on full brightness the entire time, mixed use with some YouTube at times, but mostly safari, terminal, finder, OpenCore, etc.
Been trying to get native brightness keys on my Dell Inspiron 5479 in Big Sur to work for a week. No such luck. Can you walk me through the process you used to get brightness keys mapped to F11/F12 on your 5379. Mine are currently mapped to FN+S/FN+B.
Been working on a Dell Inspiron 13 5379 with a UHD 620. I was getting abysmal results in performance while playing back a 4K video stream referenced in this post by @CaseySJ. Without any boot fags, I was getting extremely choppy playback which made the video unwatchable. Looking at the GFX AVG...
@Mrgeque I've spent about a week trying to get my touchscreen to work on my Dell Inspiron 13 5379. I read somewhere that someone with the same model as mine adopted your EFI to their config and has everything working. I decided to try my luck. I started by keeping my EFI, as I have a mostly...
I have a 'mostly' working Dell Inspiron 5379, with the exception of VERY weak WiFi and no Airdrop. Wracking my brain trying to troubleshoot this running OpenCore 0.7.6 and Big Sur 11.6.2. Everything else including bluetooth works perfectly fine.
Specifications:
Display: 13.3" Full HD IPS...
I just booted off of 11.6.1 Recovery Partition and went into Disk Utility and all drives are present. For whatever reason during a regular reboot they won't come up for a solid 10-15 min. I'm kind of stumped. Any ideas @CaseySJ
Running Big Sur 11.6.1. I was updating some audio plugins for Logic on my mac and after a reboot I lost all (except 2 NVMe) drives. I have a 1TB SATA Crucial MX500 connected and a RocketRaid 2720SGL with two separate RAID0 volumes. I can see all drives when I boot into Windows, but not in...
