So I'm using a GTX 760 and it's working like a charm, OOB.... I've had this for like 3 years now. Are you telling me with all the other cards apple has added support for, none will work OOB like my current GTX760 does??????
Has anyone had a chance to speck up or build a IMAC pro replica?
I am thinking:
CPU: Intel Xeon 8 core
Graphics: Radeon Vega
I'd want to do something that can work as close to out of the box as possible.... Any thoughts?
You DEFINITELY need to activate your thunderbolt device in windows using the appropriate tool. I have a Z97-deluxe with thunderboltex3 and I am using a apple cinema display via the thunderbolt card with a discreete video card. All work beautifully.
log in windows...
So if you want to use a proper graphics card, but use thunderbolt, there is 1 single option you have:
A motherboard that can take this card: https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboard-Accessory/ThunderboltEX-3/
eg. a compatible Asus mobo.
What this will allow you to do, is take the mini display port...
No problem at all here.. pressed the download button in the apple store, went away had dinner came back and my system was restated, installed, and still fully working. The only thing this install broke was the handoff activation which I needed to rerun toleda's patch for and now i'm back in...
Everything works on the monitor including ethernet, etc.
There is an apple bug that will sometimes cause the USB hub and camera and mike to crash - so you need to restart by turning your pc off - in mac.
Otherwise no drivers needed - other than the ones for the card in windows... Windows...
question 1: what you need to do is use this board or a board that is compatible with the Thunderbolt EXII card https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessories/ThunderboltEX_II/
The card comes with 2 cables, which you plug into your display card and then into the thunderbolt card. you then...
10 minute flawless update here, but broke a few things:
- bluetooth handoff support (fixed with Toleda patch)
- 5ghz wifi - still working on it
everything else was flawless...
UPDATE: Toledo's patch fixed handoff - I didn't have bluetooth enabled
Just need to fix 5ghz wifi now, not...
Hmm... this isn't a spec specific problem - sounds more like a UniBeast issue. What it's telling you is that it can't modify config.plist for some reason (eg. it doesn't exist, not there, etc. ) Check the forums on UniBeast and this specific error... Sorry I can't help you on this one...
Hmm... My airdrop doesn't work even though everything else works perfectly.
All IOS devices are on 9.1 and I'm running 10.11.11 and latest clover....
If anyone has any ideas, i'd really appreciate them..
Really awesome stuff, many thanks for this, I have been grappling with my Z97 deluxe with the same CPU.
A couple of quick questions:
- do you use any SSDT or DSDT?
- how is power management/CPU speed handled, all ok?
- USB3? All OK?
- Built in bluetooth and network cards? All OK out of the...
Actually I think that's what I might do... :)
Install Cap - tweak it to perfection - migration it's ass across...
Only trouble is, my 250gig SSD is my current boot drive and I've got a mechanical backup 1tb... oh well..
I know what you mean Wild - good advice mate. Getting a second drive for backup..
In the meanwhile I've discovered from conversations that ASMEDIA USB should be disabled on this board as it kicks off kernel panics on install boot, and it's not supported in Cap anyhow. The intel chipset works...
Looking for a little help please.
Has anyone transitioned from a clover Yosemite install that works well to a decent El Cap install that works well also, using a similar spec to me? If yes could you please just summarise what you did and if there were any special steps/issues you...
Has anyone got a Z97 deluxe working properly with El Capitan? Could you let me know what you had to do? I didn't actually try it yet because its my main system and I want to go down a sure path not a voyage of discovery lol!!
Yes I have a perfectly running Yosemite system this exact spec. You need a SSDT to be able to have correct power management. You will find one and a guide on Ramage Dev's page. (google it)
Also you can look at my post as well I have it described there.
