Hi, I have your same series of motherboard but it has worked for me so long as I am still on 10.11.
Would you know what I need to change if I can using the internal graphics? Thanks
Thanks for the prompt responses.
After going through more posts, I found the following which is very good and detailed guide.

Hopefully, it will be helpful to you...
Hi, accidentally updated Clover from 4289 to 5117 today and now the system cannot boot.
Stuck on the clover screen with only ability to use Shell 64.
Anyone with experience or help on how to reverse make this work again or reverse the update?
Thanks in advance
Hi, could you provide a link to which instructions you followed? I am also thinking of doing the same and have the same setup as you ex the video card. Thanks
My system either refused to boot or randomly hangs.
I have changed the PSU and the problems disappeared. The PSU lasted 6 years.
Maybe consider changing the PSU to try?
Thanks Fernandospr for your post. Neither did I find any kexts in /EFI/CLOVER/kext and all subfolders. I'll go check those folders you mentioned for the relevant kexts to copy over.
Followed all procedure detailed.
Occurrences:
1. 2nd reboot: system reached apple logo and then restarted itself
2. Tested a USB2 device, system hanged and rebooted.
3. Rebooted the system 3 more times without starting any programs.
Seems to be working fine now. The USB3 ports are reporting...
Mavericks 10.9.5 crashed on me last week and forced to reinstall again.
Thanks goodness the installation to El Capitan went like butter. There wasn't any data loss.
Now the firewire works natively on the motherboard though the PCI card (NEC chip) doesn't seem to work.
It has been running...
Now, both native motherboard and NEC PCI-X Firewire connection don't work. No idea what else to do. Repaired permissions, downgrade to a lower version of Saffire Control, etc, nothing works.
It has become unstable after upgrading to 10.9.5. It seems that any upgrade is a gamble. I am still on a NEC PCI-E chip which works while the motherboard firewire don't work, which is strange. However, on Win8.1, it is totally stable.
Hi there, Fingers crossed - it is still working incredible well and stable. I am only using the firewire connection - no other connection since day 1. No crackling or any problem with audio at all, none. I noticed that the sleep & shutdown functions sometime does not work and the FW...
I took a chance and bought a NEC based PCI card with 2 firewire 1394a ports for about US$15 at a computer parts shop.
Today is day 3 and everything works. Typically, it takes about 3 weeks or so before it breaks, so fingers crossed. Will update it if it fails.
The FireWire is unstable again as of today. The problem seems to be triggered by iTunes. The connection was there before playing iTunes. Once iTunes plays a tune, the FireWire connection drops.
any idea why?
Hi, so far the native mobo firewire connector to my Prof14 works fine since I have uninstalled Paragon NTFS for Mac. There is far fewer incidents of firewire disconnection since. I know others have no problem with that driver but I have. I suppose that it is still too early to try so I monitor...
Thanks for the info.
i am using the FireWire headers on my motherboard Gigabyte GA-z87-ud5h. I bought this mobo because I wanted the native FireWire connections so that I don't have to work with PCI-e cards.
I just uninstalled Paragon NTFS and it seems to be working, most of the time - so far.
Today, jan 25 - the FireWire seems unstable again.
i noticed that the FireWire unstable connection after I installed Paragon NTFS (demo) in this and earlier occasion.
Anyone with the same experience or it's just a coincidence?
