    Replace motherboard for Thunderbolt compatibility

Please check SecureBootModel in Misc —> Security. If it is Disabled, change it to Default — and vice-versa.

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Sure -- it is always possible. But RX 7900 X and XTX are releasing next week and we still don't know when Apple Silicon Mac Pro will be introduced. Even after it's introduced, does it mean Apple will completely stop releasing add-ons for their Mac Pro customers? The customers who work for large...

    LG UltraFine 5K Build

If your UltraFine has a Titan Ridge controller then yes you may connect a USB-C cable between the GPU and monitor (if GPU has Type C port).

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

I think it’s likely that Apple will support the new Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX (NAVI 3x) ‘soon’. I have no insider information of course. This is just speculation based on lack of Apple Silicon successor to Mac Pro this year, and historical record. When the 6800/6900 were released, Apple...

    LG UltraFine 5K Build

For all the reasons — and problems — described throughout this thread, you can see why I advise users to stay away from Thunderbolt monitors on a Hackintosh.

    LG UltraFine 5K Build

@giftmusic Not to dampen the spirit, but I have to point out the following: If your UltraFine has a 2021 build date, it most likely has a Titan Ridge peripheral controller that supports USB-C Alt Mode This allows DisplayPort signals to be processed over a DP-to-USB C cable The on-board devices...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hello @f1zzas The Asus B660-I should be fine. We may need to adjust the USB port map if this board has a slightly different USB configuration than the Z690-I.

    LG UltraFine 5K Build

I like the wiring diagram! This is the black screen issue that others have been discussing in this thread. Your motherboard has built-in Thunderbolt. Have you tried any of the suggestions in this thread?

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

We just need to disconnect Ethernet cable from 10GbE port. No change needed to EFI.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hello @Rag, Some questions: Is Ethernet cable connected to 10GbE Aquantia port all the time? This can cause repeated sleep/wake failures that will eventually cause system to crash We should unplug Ethernet cable from 10GbE port before letting computer sleep Hopefully we can find a solution...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Wow, this is very sad to see! Did Gigabyte say why they’re doing this? Is it intentional or is it a bug?

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I added the warning as shown below -- assuming that the problem is with USB ports. Edit: After reading a few of the posts above, it seems Thunderbolt section is missing from F20/F21 BIOS?? Still looking for a clear description of the problem...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Either method of port mapping is fine. I personally prefer the SSDT method with USBInjectAll because of the flexibility that USBInjectAll provides through boot arguments that can enable or disable any port defined in the SSDT. The SSDT cannot be use by itself; it’s specifically designed to...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Because most of us are using MacPro7,1 or iMacPro1,1 with this build, we're unable to use Sidecar. If Sidecar is important to you, there is a workaround despite the fact that Alder Lake and Raptor Lake do not have a supported iGPU. The workaround involves: Installing FeatureUnlock.kext from...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Some questions / suggestions: Are you using on-board Intel WiFi/BT or a Broadcom module? Does it make a difference if Ethernet cable is connected or not connected? Which version of OpenCore? Are all applications updated to latest versions? If nothing helps, one quick test is to install a fresh...

    LG UltraFine 5K Build

There are other options, including use of a HDMI or DP ghost plug. Simply search this site for “ghost plug”. Another option requires flashing the GC-Titan Ridge firmware to NVM33. @nottooshabby posted a very good summary below. He also states that it’s not necessary to connect two PSU power...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

RX570 is perfectly okay to use. Are you upgrading from Monterey? Which version of BIOS is installed? When you say “I have just tried to upgrade” does that mean the upgrade never completed? And the Window server crashes are occurring during the installation process?

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I wonder if MMIO WhiteList could make a difference. This is mostly speculative, but it’s one of very few if any remaining options. This is relatively easy to do. We just need to use the debug version of OpenCore.efi and set Misc —> Debug —> Target to 0x67 Then reboot and log back in. And now...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Regarding the Aquantia AQC113, it is actually not supported in Big Sur, which supports the previous AQC107 model. Monterey was the first to introduce support for both AQC107 and AQC113.
