Not SSD, but I thought I'd post it anyway. I'm running 2 x 1TB Seagate Barracuda's in Raid 0 on my Mac Pro 2008. I was surprised with the performance I was getting. But obviously SSD's will still be faster in random reads/writes.
Avoid Asus Monitors. I own an Asus PB278Q 27" 2560x1440 monitor, I had to get mines replaced for the third time to get a decent panel without dead, stuck pixels & yellow tint issues. What's worse is Asus wasn't willing to replace a single one for me (only repair), despite it being under a week...
Problem Solved!! Just thought I'd share how I fixed it.. I added the following kernel flags : GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=Zonalis
And it detected the graphics card correctly, now all games work, and performance is as expected..
Radeon 5850 recognized as HD 5000 Series (SOLVED)
Just finished Installing Mac OSX Mountain Lion successfully, was also able to boot into ML but I cannot get the graphics card to recognize correctly, about this mac shows it has HD 5000 Series card, while animations are nice and...
So I've been suffering with occasional crashes/panic when I see the apple loading screen, I then restart, and then It lets me into OSX Lion, I have experienced no crashes while I'm using OSX Lion.. This only occurs sometimes during start ups..
I'm using Easybeast, VoodooHDA & Atheros...
Looks like the card is working perfectly, the Heaven Benchmark shows quite an improvement, also tried Mini Racers game and saw a 30FPS boost, so clearly am seeing the performance difference..
I'm guessing benchmarks such as cinebench and xbench are pretty much inaccurate and useless...
Just ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark and It looks like I am getting a boost of performance.. So I'm guessing the Cinebench & Xbench scores are inaccurate?
Heaven Benchmark Score
5770 - 817 (1080P with default settings)
5850 - 1262 (1080P with default settings)
Those look about right..
Just upgraded to a Sapphire Radeon 5850 1GB, meant to replace my Radeon 5770, and for some reason I'm getting little to no change on the scores.. While games and everything seem to be working fine, it seems like my card is not performing to its full potential..
As you guys can see the...
I can't seem to get my Intel HD 3000 Graphics working, not sure If it has to do with my Z77 Motherboard, although I can successfully boot into Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4, my maximum resolution is 1024x768 & on About This Mac it says Display 64MB of Shared Memory..
Anyone know what I can...
I was hoping someone could fill me in on what Chimera is used for? I've never tried it before, I've always only installed MultiBeast and thats about it..
Also how do I install Chimera? Am I supposed to install it after MultiBeast?
Appreciate your help :)
Yeah I'm wondering the same 5.4GHz seems impossible especially on air cooling. Or perhaps you haven't checked for real stability yet?
The maximum I achieved on my Z68 Motherboard was a 4.7GHz Prime 95 (Small FFT's) Stable for 12 Hours..
Sadly my Z77M D3H has no option for cpu voltage...
I think it really depends on the motherboard, I remember when I had Installed OSX on an X58 Motherboard the Voodoo HDA audio was terrible on that.. There would be a constant buzzing noise, and the audio overall wasn't that great..
Now on this Z77 board while the volume doesn't go as high as in...
Yup the quality is pretty good, at least for me, I haven't noticed a significant difference when compared to the quality on Windows 7 with drivers.. I actually had ordered a USB Sound Card, but changed my order for a heatsink instead as I'm pretty satisfied with the Voodoo HDA..
Re: Lion Installation Problems Gigabyte Z77M-D3H, HD 3000
Hi, make sure you update to Mac OSX Lion to 10.7.3 & reboot before proceeding with Multibeast.. Also only install whats necessary = Easybeast, System Utilities & Atheros Network driver.. I would recommend installing the audio & boot...
Hmm, thats strange, I have not had issues with my Apple Keyboard & Mouse.. Everything works perfectly.. Maybe you installed unnecessary stuff? On Multibeast I chose:
Network = Atheros
Voodoo HDA (Latest)
I had to delete AppleHDA in advanced otherwise you get kernel...
