GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

Just for fun, I put my 660 back in after installing the Catalina public beta. I haven't spent too much time with it, but so far I've seen no glitches doing the things I used to do to quickly trigger them in Mojave and High Sierra. Edit: 30 seconds after clicking submit, they started. So much...

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

The only thing that temporarily fixed it for me was temporarily rotating the screen/changing the resolution. Even then, I don’t think I got 30 minutes out of it before it started acting up again. I can’t remember if it even fully got rid of the artifacts, or if it just reduced them for a few...

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

They specifically list the 580 as a recommended option for running Mojave on the 2010 and 2012 Mac Pro. They also list the 560 and 570 as possible alternatives. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208898 I guess you could make the argument that they’ll drop support for those when they drop...

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

Rapidly opening and closing launchpad and then opening up the chess app and moving a couple pieces around is my method of getting the artifacts going. It usually gets them going pretty quickly.

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

I didn’t bother with the web drivers. I assumed it wouldn’t change anything. I bought a RX560 so I’m not too motivated to mess with it, I just reinstalled the card temporarily to see if anything changed.

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

I just installed the final release of Mojave and put my 660 back in just to test it. The glitches started almost immediately.

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

My last post in this thread was referring to the guide arjanw posted, I should have quoted his post. I saw no improvement after setting up native power management with Mojave.

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

I tried that guide with Mojave public beta 2 and saw no difference. If anything, the glitches were worse than before. I got the multicolor glitches that make it difficult to read stuff in the menubar menus. Before following that guide, I just had lines around the menus that didn't affect...

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

I just tested WhateverGreen with Mojave public beta 2. The artifacts seemed to start showing much faster, but seemed slightly less intrusive for some things. Previously when the artifacts would appear, the menubar text and drop down menus would be unreadable, but so far that hasn't been the case...

GTX 660 glitch issue with MacOS High Sierra 10.13

Same thing happened to me, but the public beta is out so it’s safe to talk about it now. No changes here with Mojave, the glitches usually take no more than 10 minutes to appear on mine and make it pretty much unusable. I’m hoping it’ll get fixed before the final release but I’m not very...

Can't boot clover: x64 exception error

I have a Toshiba Satellite S855. CPU is an Intel Core i7 3610qm, with Intel HD Graphics 4000. I used unibeast to make an El Capitan USB drive, but when I try to boot it, I get an "x64 exception type..." error message in red letters with a whole bunch of error codes. Clover will boot if I install...

OS X randomly crashes with two GTX 660s installed

I ended up just removing my second card and putting my radeon 6450 in its place. It's not exactly the solution I wanted, but it seems to be working so far.

AR5B195 Recognized but can't find networks when using DSDT

I just tried that and went through the output file and commented out everything that was causing compile errors, but I've still got that syntax error and I'm not sure what to do to get rid of that. I've attached both the edited and unedited .dsl files

AR5B195 Recognized but can't find networks when using DSDT

Bluetooth seems to be working consistently now with or without the DSDT. I've been comparing the values in IORegistryExplorer with and without the DSDT and modified the DSDT to get all that matching up but it still won't work with the DSDT loaded. I tried to extract my own DSDT but got all kinds...

AR5B195 Recognized but can't find networks when using DSDT

I've got an MSI GE60 2OD-247US and I swapped the unsupported WiFi/bluetooth combo card out for an AR5B195. When I boot with my DSDT, bluetooth works and WiFi is recognized but doesn't find any networks. If I boot without the DSDT, bluetooth doesn't work but WiFi works perfectly. I assume that...
