[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

You worked it out already, but as reference for others: Always start with \_SB as base ('\': absolute root; leading '_': name reserved by ACPI specification) for External and Scope. Then every send item is an ACPI entity (4 character name, beginning with a letter from 'A' to 'Z') with a PCI...

Gigabyte Z590I Vision D - Network over Thunderbolt (FULL Thunderbolt support?)

If you do mean Thunderbolt networking, this requires activating the Thunderbolt bus. It was reported that Asus Z690 with on-board Maple Ridge spontaneously had an active Thunderbolt bus under Big Sur. If I remember correctly, there was no such happiness with Gigabyte Z690 boards. Anyway, this...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

If your existing Z690 build is updated to a BIOS which supports 13th gen., Raptor Lake is a drop-in upgrade. If it is not updated yet, do that first, adjust EFI as necessary (e.g. SetupVirtualMap quirk) and then fall back on the previous case.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

There have been a few reports of Z790 successes here as well. If you're not afraid of setting up a new system (USB mapping and so on…), absolutely want to upgrade a Z490 system which does not look quite obsolete yet, and do not want to go for a Mac Studio despite the clear sign on the wall for...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Welcome @Krader ! You may be forgotten for missing it in the 221 pages of this thread (and counting…) but the on-board Thunderbolt ports only work well with Big Sur, not with Monterey and Ventura. No solution has been found. If you need Thunderbolt the advice is to use a Titan Ridge card. Maple...

    Will It, Won't It — 7950X & Asus X670E-F gaming Wifi

Clover and OpenCore use different formulas to calculate FSB and TSC frequencies. Some of the Clover code is reportedly a legacy from the days when AMD hackintoshers compiled custom kernels instead of patching Apple's kernel. Either bootloader produced garbled audio, but mixing code from both...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

You have two unnamed bridges ('pci-bridge' in IOReg; 'PCI(0000)' in Windows). These need to have ACPI names for OpenCore to apply DeviceProperties to the GPU downstream. Use SSDT-BRG.aml and then apply DeviceProperties: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x3,0x1)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) key...

    Will It, Won't It — 7950X & Asus X670E-F gaming Wifi

Much more complex indeed. Alder Lake booted and ran fine with just the CPU definition SSDT (CPU-WRAP/CPUR) and E-cores or HT disabled. I expected a more tedious progress of moving small step by small step towards boot. There was no serial debugging involved, and the sole limitation (namely...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

By DDR5 specification, RAM speed drops when using 2 DIMMs per channel, so performance would be better with 2*32 GB (or possibly even with DDR4!). If you have no stability issues with 4 DIMMs, keep as you are.

Z690 Chipset and Alder Lake CPUs

@charlieb58 Unfortunately, you can't use Catalina (or Big Sur 11.2.1, which is the last version supported by the XhciPortLimit quirk) with a RX6600, so you'll have to use the SSDT-UIAC method of USB mapping. Or temporarily get a Polaris GPU for mapping under Catalina/Big Sur.

    Will It, Won't It — 7950X & Asus X670E-F gaming Wifi

Why? Do you think that kernel patches would be some more dignified result to show for CaseySJ's work? Computer history teaches us that lines of code are NOT a good metric to assess a programmer's work: https://www.folklore.org/StoryView.py?story=Negative_2000_Lines_Of_Code.txt

    Will It, Won't It — 7950X & Asus X670E-F gaming Wifi

Rather a problem solved with AMD platform because MSI X570 boards already had issues with PCIe devices not being properly initialised, and @CaseySJ serendipitously fixed it with his work on X670. So one back in the box. "Garbled audio" and "no VT-d" remain outstanding. The pull request for the...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Actually that would be a server motherboard and CPU, not workstation ;) These do not have to break the bank. Up to 9th generation, Core i3 supported ECC and served as fully qualified low-cost server CPU—but C242/C246 motherboards are getting hard to find. It would run with 16 GB, but ZFS is...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

You can't find it since it's Direct Attach Storage: By definition, it serves one and only one master. Having several clients makes it a NAS. This would be best followed up on the TrueNAS forum then. Consumer motherboard and non-ECC CPU are not the best choice, though this is not fatal. Minimal...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Yes. It is a genuine 6900 XT (0x73bf) but 'device-id' shows up as <00 73 bf> (THREE bytes???) instead of <bf 73 00 00>. I'm not sure what's going on here… For a start, you may remove the "device-id" entry under DeviceProperties in config.plist.

    Will It, Won't It — 7950X & Asus X670E-F gaming Wifi

No. NVMe works with Big Sur. For Monterey/Ventura, get a SATA SSD. If you need to access the data from different OS, I suggest putting these drives in a NAS rather than directly in the workstation.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

This does not match known values. If you actually have a 6900 XTXH or 6950 XT we need an IOReg rather than the EFI folder.
