How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I had the same issue, just went round a couple of times rebooting and reapplying the update, eventually just starting with -v fixed it.

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I've had issues with the recent (10.13.3 and 10.13.4) NVIDIA WebDrivers with my 1080 Ti, largely lag with Expose and Safari, which have been solved to be fair by running the 10.13.2 WebDrivers (1.7-91-378.10.10.10.25.105, https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/378/WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.105.pkg)...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

For some reason I started getting slide errors from AptioMemoryFix on my MSI board, and noticed there's a couple of recent fixes which aren't in the version in the EFI folder of this guide. Therefore I downloaded and built the release version of the head of the Github repository which works...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I sent it away to a de-lid service for $40 ;) Was much cheaper and easier than sourcing all the materials and tools. He used a 3D-printed block, removed the silicon, applied Conductonaut to the die and liquid electrical tape to the remaining components on the die for safety, then resealed the...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Hi All, Have just set up a system based on this guide, MSI X299M AC CARBON GAMING motherboard and i9-7900, so thought I'd point out a few things: Needed [npci=0x2000] to boot as well as the other boot flags. You can disable the MSR lock in the BIOS (In OC Settings under Advanced somewhere) but...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Sorry I have just found that post I think. Long thread! Anyway there's no reason, just sometimes hard to have multiple systems to be able to preformat a drive before running the installer. I see both ways work fine now, great!

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

No of course not, I just wonder why you recommend putting the EFI folder on the system disc before install and not after. I usually format my M.2 drive from the terminal when booting the installer off the USB, and copy the EFI folder after. [EDIT] Actually it seems this post explains it...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Hi, I might be being obtuse, but is there any reason the guide suggests putting the EFI partition/clover in the ESP of the install target drive rather than the boot USB drive? I've always used a bootable Installer USB to install in the past, particularly as I'm running an M.2 system drive.

    GTX 970 / GTX 980 are here

That's fantastic thanks, had too many DSDT fixes in my clover.plist. Got the 980 Ti working, it's amazing! Thanks for your help.

    GTX 970 / GTX 980 are here

Asrock X99M Hi, Saw you had a build based on this board. I have a similar system with the Asrock X99M board, i7-5820K, and was running with a Radeon HD5450. I have just bought a MSI GTX 980 Ti, but cannot get the system to load the GFX drivers, and i get a halt during boot even with...

No Sound - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

OK as far as I can tell I have followed Clover method from your post on the Haswell-E X-99 Thread. I skipped Add config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename ALZA to HDEF Set config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/NO (all properties) because I already had an HDEF device in IORegistryExplorer, and because...

No Sound - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Hi, have followed instructions from X99 linked thread, however altering config.plist as you suggest means the HDA outputs other than HDMI no longer show up in System Info, and Codec ID disappears from DPCIManager. Patched Vanilla 10.10.3 AppleHDA.kext causes kernel panic. Thanks again for...

Everything else is working pretty well, but I take your point. Will give that patch a try when I get home, thanks.

No Sound - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

I can't boot after deleting all DSDT fixes. The AppleHDA.kext I'm using is the ALC1150 one from latest Multibeast. I didn't use an audio guide, just the X99 Clover installer with defaults for config.plist, then installed AppleHDA.kext into S/L/E after following your No sound guide. Thanks!

10.7.4 Sandy Bridge CPU Power Management Fix

I'm still having issues using a P8Z68-V Pro with a Core i7-2600K @ 4.2GHz. Bios 3203 patched. Current (self-built using Maldon method) DSDT & DropSSDT=Yes: CoreMulti 16 & 42. New generic SSDT with or without DSDT: CoreMulti 16 only. Should I wait for the new patched DSDT (I see they were...
