Yes it is off the shelf. Don't get me wrong it is a strong processor for what I do, just considering upgrade options.
I know the i9 9900 range are the top-end according to the lists of compatible processors; just a wondering if someone had success with the processors?
I guess I could go for a...
Just for my curiosity. What is the fastest and most powerful chip we can use with the Designare Z390?
I am rocking the i9 9900 ks currently, and I am guessing that is the top end but I could use a little extra CPU power from time to time.
Yes I did use an OpenCore EFI folder from this thread. I have "SSDT-TB3-HackinDROM.aml" and "SSDT-Z390-"DESIGNARE-TB3HP-V4.aml" in the OpenCore folder, however when I go to the System Report Thunderbolt/USB 4 it says No Drivers Are Loaded
Hello all, and happy holidays!
After a long while of solid work on my Hackintosh, I am looking to jump in to getting Thunderbolt working.
I've read through the guides, however I am not clear on what steps I need to take from here. I have not made any attempts at this as yet.
Apple Music Lossless?
I have discovered, and also read there is an issue with playing Apple Music in Lossless mode. It just skips the tracks without playing.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Apparently switching to iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS gets it working?
Is there any harm in using the older OpenCore 0.6.4 with the latest version of Big Sur 11.6
I just updated from Catalina to Big Sur with success (thanks again to Casey's superb guides), and I was on OC 0.6.4 prior to the upgrade. So thinking to keep as is as it is working well....
Got a functioning bootable back up of my Mojave install, now ready to format my NVMe drive to start a fresh Catalina install using OpenCore.
What is current scoop on the definitive and best way to generate a serial number and board serial number?
As I am starting from fresh, what SMBIOS? iMac...
I am thinking to generate new serial numbers, as I was wondering if this may be a reason that Logic is not working on my system.
If I am installing Catalina as a fresh install on to an NVMe drive that has an existing Mojave/Clover installation (after backing up the Mojave/Clover drive) rather...
In the OpenCore guides in this thread for Designare will this work for a completely fresh install of Catalina and Opencore? Without the need to port across anything from my Clover install? New serial numbers etc.
It may be naive of me, but as I don't know what is causing Logic Pro to not...
Yeh it has me baffled.
I have tried everything I can think of normally. Removed all plugins, cache, preferences - uninstall and reinstall, start without audio driver active.
I thought I had cracked it with the new Mojave install, but after a week or two Logic started crashing again. Just...
Thanks for confirming.
I had tried that, I have a bootable backup that is bare-bones Mojave 10.4.6 with no apps installed. I duplicated that and installed Logic Pro, which worked perfectly even after installing a lot of 3rd party plugins - and copying to an internal NVMe drive. It was only...
Hello, I started with Mojave earlier this year in January when Pro Tools wasn't recommended for Catalina. I haven't any need to upgrade.
It is an option for sure to create a Catalina upgrade, although it would be good to get Logic working with Mojave so I don't find myself in the same situation...
Folks I could do with some help regarding Logic Pro crashing immediately on startup. The story so far...
- Installed Mojave 10.4.6 and all good, Logic works
- Installed a bunch of plugins, Logic crashes immediately on staring up, can't open a session get into any preferences etc.
- Removed all...
What's the most powerful processor folks have used with the Designare Z390? Just speculating if there is any reason for me to consider upgrading the i9 9900ks in my build?
Apologies if this has been covered already.
Hey c0c0p0ps, yes I am a familiar face at that studio in Bermondsey ;) Thanks massively for your help, the machine is still going strong!
My Logic issue is more one of those I'd like fixed, but don't really need it. So I keep putting off investigating. When I get some time I will try again...
Awesome thanks for the info. I too had a 2008 Mac Pro (2008 till 2014) then a 2010 Mac Pro until this year, when I built this machine. It's the best computer I have ever had.
My only ongoing issue is that Logic Pro crashes immediately on startup, it's no biggy as I don't use it anymore - but...
