If anyone gets this error while booting the EFI:
OC: grabbed zero system-id for SB, this is not allowed.
Do this:
Open the config.plist in Opencore Configurator
Go to Misc -> Security -> SecureBootModel and make sure is set to Disabled
Also if you have Intel Wifi card, add...
What helped me boot from OC directly without the grey screen work around was using the BIOS settings recommended in the first post.
Reset your BIOS settings and try using the recommended ones.
Also, what is your BIOS version?
If anyone needs OC 0.7.1 EFI with updated kexts, you can use this. Just change the serial number and stuff in config.plist.
P.S I have i7 4k touch model.
Hi. Does your combo jack work fine? (auido+mic). Mine sometimes doesn't work after waking from sleep and then I have to restart a couple of time until it works.
I dont know why the headphone and mic isnt working for you guys. I posted a zip file a few pages back. Works absolutely fine for me.
Edit:

I get the same issue as post #2. After selecting OpenCore to boot from, the screen goes blank for 2 to 3 seconds and then boots to Windows. The kernel panic log is attached.

Thankyou for posting this. It didnt work for me. I got the same error. But I found this fix somewhere and I replaced the hda verb inside with the one I already had working. Now headphone and mic both work!

Mounting system as rw seems to be tricky on big sur.

It hasn't got anything to do with BigSur apparently. But with the EFI folder you are using.
I currently have Catalina installed. I can get 60Hz using Clover 5122. If I use OpenCore to boot the same Catalina installation, I get 48 Hz.
Same here. I get 48 Hz too. The brightness works fine for me using Fn + F11/F12 (I am using the Opencore EFI attached in the first post. Patching EDID did nothing for me. I was able to boot directly without patching the EDID and after patching it is the same.)
I do not know how to fix the...
