I've installed Sierra with a Intel HD530, and as it is known, there are some graphics glitches. So, I decided to install and old GeForce 9400 GT, and it works almost perfect.
My mobo is a Gigabyte Z170X-UD5, with a I7 Skylake.
With some applications as iMessages, HipChat, Preview, etc...
Once I had the dual monitor working in hot plugging, I tried changing the set up for a Macbook(Skylake) and I often had dual monitor boot (sometimes it crashes).
To enable dual monitor in hot plugin I add some patches to the config.plist. Here is my EFI folder, may be it could be useful...
I added this post to the Forum part of the site because I'm not doing a guide because I don't have te necessary information to do it... Just I wanted to share that I achived the dual monitor with the HD530, sharing that I set some cfg and then another one.. Sorry for the misunderstood
After a time fighting against several problems I got it:
- Dual monitor (HDMI + DVI)
- Back panel and front panel audio
- Ethernet (I'am waiting my wifi+bt board)
- Apple kb wired until my bt board arrives
- Dual monitor boot :D (sometimes it doesn't work, but it often works)
I am not an expert, but making some changes, I tried to change the configuration to a Mac (which has Skylake technology) and I could boot the cpu with dual monitor (dvi + hdmi).
The bad new is that i don't have audio, i don't know yet what others things I've lost haha.
I just want to share my experience with the Audio through HDMI:
I didn't have audio in the HDMI, I tried to fix it using the several scripts in the forum but i didn't get it.
Without hope I opened the config.plist and started looking for HDMI fields, I found a tag...
I'm from Argentina and here we have some problems with customs, therefore we haven't got all the hardware we want. I've been looking for the components that appear in the buying guide but i couldn't find all of them.
Here there is what i could find:
