    High Sierra UEFI Boot Issue

I know this is an old thread - but this fixed it when my BIOS lost my Catalina boot partition. Thanks!

<< Solved >> Catalina easy update and sound fix

I have sound via HDMI to my external stereo receiver. However, the USB sound device (headphones/mic) still doesn't work. I use this for Zoom meetings, etc. It shows up on the list of devices but...no sound output. Any idea as to how to get it enabled? Thanks!

<< Solved >> Catalina easy update and sound fix

I have two nearly identical machines. The only difference is that one pulls sound from the NVidia GT640 HDMI port, the other (this one) uses the Intel motherboard sound. Got the sound fix in this thread to work fine on the HDMI machine. On this one, no joy. First tried checking "FixHPET" in...

Do you *copy* AppleHDA.kext to /Library/Extensions, or *move* it there? Thanks :)

    superblock error at boot

I know this is an old thread, but I've started seeing this line ("superblock indicates jumpstart record but this driver not loaded from this partition"), along with a few-second boot delay, with my Catalina build. Is the patch from the previous thread (10.13.1) still valid?

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

I can actually live with it as-is. So, should I just go ahead and export this configuration as-is (-> USBPorts.kext) or would it make any sense to delete all of the "unknown" ports first? Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated!

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Per instructions, USBInjectAll.kext is in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other; yes, I still have the recommended port limit patches in place - haven't saved anything yet (waiting to figure out what's safe to delete). Thanks!

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

@UtterDisbelief - Thanks very much. FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext and GenericUSBXHCI.kext are not installed (see kextstat output). Also find attached the sections of the IOReg that you requested. Much appreciated!

    [Release] Hackintool v3.x.x

I have never been able to get iMessage/Facetime to work on this machine since the beginning. Would deleting the iMessage keys that I see on the Info page possibly help me to get it working? Could one or more of these old keys be blacklisted on Apple's servers?

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Hi all - Just getting around to getting this done after tweaking a sound issue with my Catalina build (now working). Most of the USB ports work on this machine, but I was trying to get this optimized, as there are a few that don't. I am up to part three of the original guide on page 1. See...

no audio device after installing Catalina Beta

Tried adding WhateverGreen as well. This did not fix the "no HDMI audio" problem, and in fact causes VirtualBox to crash the system.

no audio device after installing Catalina Beta

Just installed Catalina. No problems at all with the install, but I have the same issue - have lost my HDMI audio, which worked fine under Mojave. Did the above, installed Lilu 1.3.8 and AppleALC 1.4.2 - still no sound, however. Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    USB port limit patch for 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.5,14.6

Can these patches be made directly/literally as in the first post to config.plist via a text editor under Linux? After the upgrade to Mojave on one of my machines, my USB keyboard and mouse don't work so I can't get past the login screen and therefore can't do it in Clover Configurator. It...

    Mojave upgrade: "Error verifying firmware"

I tried running Multibeast from the install USB drive (Terminal -> cd to the install partition on the flash drive, run Multibeast) and selected my Mojave SSD partition as the target. Selected 7/8/9 series USB support and the new USB Port Limit patch. Still no joy, USB still not working. I can...

    Mojave upgrade: "Error verifying firmware"

The machine I was trying to upgrade is using the Intel HD 4600. Did finally get Mojave to install, but my USB devices aren't working. The other machine has a NVidia GT 640 card.

After failed Mojave upgrade, High Sierra freezes at login screen

Update - got Mojave installed (USB devices work using the install flash drive to do the upgrade) but my keyboard and mouse are still not working on booting Mojave. I am using USBInjectAll and I have the 15->24 port patch done. Any ideas?? Thanks. Tried moving over the USB stuff in the flash...

    Mojave upgrade: "Error verifying firmware"

OK - got the firmware problem solved. My config.plist still had a very old BIOS revision and date (September 2013) even though I have a recent version of Clover installed. These were never updated in the SMBIOS section. Once I changed them (booted into Linux, mounted the EFI partition, used a...
