Yeah, using an BF apollo 8p, apollo 16 and quad sat ... I got it working by putting it in the last pci-e slot on the motherboard. Working in both mac and windows now. Ah yeah, im just plugging it direct into the alpine ridge card. It seems to be a bit finky with booting and i keep trying to...
think I got it working! i read on a forum that the card needs to be installed on the furtherest PCI-E slot .. I had it in the middle whoops... working on windows, now to try on the mac drive. thanks for your help jsconiers! I used your bios settings manually.
Ahh my bad, I thought this was to flash the bios to newer version , realize its your bios settings, tried loading it after changing name says invalid model number haha. Waiting on gigabyte to respond, 3-7 biz days for support ticket ha
Awesome ! Thanks again for your help ... I’m using that “star tech” one I think it’s called ? I heard lots of people on here saying it works on here ?
Also do you think I’ll be okay putting on a diff bios than what’s supported by “OP” version specifically ? On that support page it’s just got the...
Hey imgarrett, did you end up figuring this out? I am having the same issue trying to get the Z370-OP to show TB in the bios ... only 1 bios ver available.
Haha last one! But I think I might be SOL ... even tho it says on the box thunderbolt 3 supported maybe my Z370-AORUS-GAMING-7-OP one isn't? broootal - I even had to take out the Octane memory to make it work. shoulda got the non octane one
btw, are you able to see the TB options in your bios under peripherals? I don't even have that option ... so wondering if im using the wrong BIOS ... under my specific board it only shows one vers tho...
I do have the gaming 7 ! Would love to test out your bios we have almost identical systems actually haha. I got controller not found when I try to run the flashtbt ... also when I install the TB driver it says newer version already found.
I installed the newer drivers first, I heard maybe...
ahh nice... I don't even have the option for thunderbolt in my BIOS ... weird - I think I made a mistake getting the built in octane version if you check the support theres no newer bios's available for this vers. see screen:
I have windows 10 on another HD and installed the TB drivers, doesn't...
Hey guys, any luck getting alpine to work? I just finished a new build, I got the Octane version of the Z370 by accident, and have since taken it out. Build works great, dual boot to windows/mac ... nothing coming from the TB card - I have it plugged into the tb header and the star tb3 -> tb2...
Hey guys, I run an apollo system too (BF 8p + BF16 + 2x octo's) ... putting in a new build for my main audio station on OSX, @PhilTimm whats your build thats working?
Thinking its dead ... it lights up fine and in the control utility via vmware I can change the colours (only fun part of today lol) ... so I think its dead or the thermal paste. Going to try some new thermal paste like AppleIIGuy recommended and if no luck, well time to find another solution...
okay so the plot thickens lol ... I got the crosair utility to work in vmware and it sees the device and I updated the firmware for it ... still over heating and in the utility it is flashing red ... I'm starting to think crosair is not a good hackintosh cooling solution!
I flipped the fan so they are both facing the same way ... I'm not sure if im going <-[ <-[ or [-> [-> back into the case now tho lol... but the problem hasn't changed so I don't think that is it.
Hmm I guess i'll try to do some research of find ppl using corsair on a hackintosh.
Okay awesome going to try that ... It might not be correct maybe I'm just feeling the air flow wrong but im gonna double check :D
I reset the unit again and it made a slight improvement but still something wrong. the spike is when I ran geekbench and it shot right up.
I wonder if I run it using vmware if I can get the info using the utility? I'm trying to reset it and I guess I will try that .... Gonna search around to see if anyone has a hack using the Corsair H100 properly too.
