If I were you I would consider switching to Opencore as others have said. The initial setup takes a while. I followed a great tutorial by Chris Titus. Once I created my Opencore USB stick I installed Catalina and it went without a hitch. While I was messing around I then changed my model...
That doesn't surprise me at all.
Maybe it is time to start looking for some new hardware lol I actually have a Dell Optiplex 3060 SFF with an i7-8700 that I use as my main Windows machine. I might make an image of the main disk and play around with Opencore. These Optiplex's seem to be another...
OK seeing I was on a roll I changed the model identifier to Macmini7,1 downloaded Monterey, created a USB installer and promptly installed it. I am gob smacked it was so easy. I used the same EFI folder I created for Catalina, all I did was change the identifier and create the relevant serial...
I checked my config.plist and all looked ok,
I have an M93P Tiny which I just installed Catalina on so I used the EFI folder from my M83SFF and booted into Catalina and the upgrade was showing so I figured why not lol
To my amazement it installed without a hitch ! I have to say I am not sure...
Perfect Thank You,
That is what I read on the Opencore tutorial. Is there anything else that needs to be done to the config.plist or can I just go ahead and update directly from the settings menu in Catalina?
Hi All,
This afternoon I had some time so I thought I would go through the Opencore tutorial and install a fresh version of Catalina. I completed this successfully with only a few issues that I fixed after googling them.
I now have a fully operating Catalina 10.15.17 - The Opencore tutorial...
I found out what the issue was,
Determined not to be beaten by this I looked at what was different with my M83SFF running Catalina and this M93P and then it hit me, On the M93P I had it connected to a spare monitor via a regular VGA cable and on my M83 I was using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter...
No worries,
I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I only ever see the install Catalina option. I have let it reboot multiple times but the same thing happens. I am pretty sure I used your guide on my M83 SFF and that worked first time. I will look into the GibmacOS option
Well I am at a bit of a loss,
When I brought the machine (M93P Tiny, I5-4570T, 8GB RAM) it had a BIOS from 2018, I tried the latest BIOS and even downgraded last night to the 2016 BIOS recommended at the beginning of this thread. I have adjusted all the BIOS settings mentioned here and in other...
I just picked up a M93P with a I5-4570T
I used my existing Catalina install USB stick from another Lenovo Desktop replacing the EFI folder with the one in this thread. I can boot to clover and start the install, the Apple logo appears but every time the progress bar reaches half way it re boots...
Hi All,
I just updated to 10.15.6 from 10.15.5 on my Lenovo M83 and I am now finding when I shutdown or restart it seems to hang for around a minute then eventually shutsdown.
I updated the required Kexts and even tried with the previous versions. Prior to this everything worked well. I can...
Good Morning All,
Hope you are all safe & well.
I just did the 10.15.6 update and while the update went without issues it now takes forever to shut down or restart.
Has anyone else seen this and figure out what the issue is?
Perfect Thank you,
I seem to remember that when I initially installed High Sierra I actually unplugged the SSD with Windows 10 and once I had High Sierra up & running then I re connected the Windows drive so I thought all of the Clover files were on the EFI partition on the 2nd drive.
