Update Directly to macOS High Sierra

Absolutely terrible luck here. Was getting ready to install with hfs+ still there, it restarts and none of my usb works. Can’t even get into bios! So clover boots the install verbose mode and then I get usb/keyboard/mouse but never boots fully, I get an apple logo for a split second then looks...

[Solved] Successful Sierra build, but USB 3.0 ports only work with USB 2.0 devices.

This did it for me! THANK YOU for posting! Been looking for a while on why the usb3 devices weren't working but the usb2 ones did, even on the same usb3 port. ga-z170-hd3 mobo as well.

install el Capitan on a laptop ASUS K53E

Lol does it now... Gotta switch the profile every time I ask about different computers? Can't just say it in here? Real cool. I'll be working on this k53e with updates for posterity.

install el Capitan on a laptop ASUS K53E

Nevermind the profile, that's my laptop. This is a friend's laptop I'm helping him install OS X on it. I've installed Mavericks on here before, it's on another hard drive, bootable, so I can change any config/kexts/whatnots accordingly. Yes, this computer has HD 3000, it is a 2430m CPU (sandy...

install el Capitan on a laptop ASUS K53E

Confused about any of that information directing towards resolving the issue we gave. I appreciate it anyway though. That FAQ is definitely bookmarked! Anyway, resolved the issue. Should've known too. The computer is booting. Default laptop display was disabled (I'm sure takes some config...

Flash Player crashes everytime Yosemite 10.10

Not going to lie, this totally f*cking sucks. Can't seem to find a decent workaround. Doing it both on my laptop (running clover) and desktop (running chimera).

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

Using the free trial drivers. I hit them up and requested the DevID in the drivers and they got back to me immediately with working drivers. I would love to throw them some money for the drivers, but 150+ bucks to me right now is like asking for 150,000 bucks if you know what I mean.

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

Just want to add (if it wasn't obvious) that the touchscreen totally works with the new élan 10point drivers from touch-base.com. Pretty neat!

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

Yep, I'm getting a blinking power LED most of the time when I put it to sleep. Hitting a button on the keyboard makes the power light and fan go back on, but within 5 seconds it shuts down, no wake reason or anything in the system log. I then have to manually reboot the computer.

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

hmmm interesting. I pretty much have the same exact kexts either in there or in the S/L/E, except I got a newer élan touchpad kext (3.5). As for sleep, still in the situation where it goes to sleep, but doesn't wake up, just boots back down and i have to restart it. What BIOS version are...

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

Just curious. How did you get the keyboard backlight to work? Did you do any DSDT edits or just worked when you used that dsdt you found on the internet? I've been looking into the asusfnkeys kext and activating the backlight settings in there, but no dice. edited the dsdt that was mentioned in...

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

I turned off spotlight indexing entirely and proceeded to put this laptop to sleep. It goes to sleep as expected, the fan stopping, power light off and blinking occasionally like it does on windows/etc.. But when I hit a key on the keyboard to wake, the power button comes back on, and I hear the...

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

The problem was the hfs+ driver wasn't reading the usb. Yep, I used the DSDT he posted which I'm assuming is working well. (I'm fairly new to the DSDT world). Sleep still doesn't quite work, which in my 5 past hackintoshes, seems like the hardest thing to get working, if not impossible. But...

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

After a day of trial and error, I found out it had to do with the 64bitdrivers folder in the EFI\Clover folder to get to install. Got most of the stuff working pretty well after doing what you said in the Configurator, Rehabman. I appreciate it! The kexts and dsdt as well. Thanks FLP and...

Buggy DSDT Asus Q501LA, help needed!

I'm using the same config.plist conradolpz posted. Asus Q501LA-BBI5T03, which is identical to the one they had, except possibly a wifi/bt adapter. Would an older bios version (205) have anything to do with it?
