I was able to find my system backup drive which I have not used in a few months, and in fact, when I boot off it and run Geek Bench I return to my previous score. That system was running 10.7.3.
Any clues?
Hey guys,
I updated my system to 10.7.5 and noticed after a while that my system was a bit slower than normal. So today I decided to really see what was going on, and in fact a geek bench test reveals that I'm performing at less than half speed from March of this year! I'm down to 6K, from a...
We've been told over and over again by Avid that the reason we need new hardware, and that the reason it is taking so long is that 64bit PT11 is a major recode. That's their story anyway, and they have been sticking to it.
The plug-ins are what process the audio in real time. Some of them...
Getting back to my point about other users experiences. I have NOT found that allocating Pro Tools to use half of the cores gets the best performance. Maybe these users have dual processors. I'll have to investigate.
If I make a session where I max it out I can get the system to play back at...
Right, this cuts to the core of questions, and I've been pondering/researching them for a while. To complicate things, Pro Tools 11 is right around the corner, and will FINALLY be a 64 bit program. I'm convinced that PT being a 32bit program (with admittedly old code) hand cuffs the efficiency...
I believe them that they will. I was hoping it was going to be early this year, but now I'm convinced it will late in the year, if this year at all. I have a huge mix coming up in the spring, and I'd really like more power for it. Believe me, I've wanted a new Mac Pro for a while. Amazing that a...
I've been running PT10HD with my accell cards sitting in their box in the next room since this time last year. I also picked up a copy of CPTK before they finally made the upgrade path from DV toolkit to CPTK available. It's funny for me to see the HD logo come up on my screen when I don't have...
Yeah, I've been pondering simply upgrading my mobo and processor to one of the new 6 core 2011 chips. However in Pro Tools you can pick the amount of processors you want to use for plug-ins, and the more the better.
I've seen matched pairs of Xeon 5650 chips on the flea bay for under a grand...
Need advice on building Dual Xeon or IB custo for audio production
Hello Tonymac friends.
It's been 2 years since my last build, and I believe it is time for another one. I've been running Tonymac Customacs in my recording studio for about 4 years. I kept my G5 sitting in the corner for...
Re: Guide: GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 with ATI 6870 - Clean Lion Install
I used this guide with perfect success. I let my system sit next to me with the guts out while I burned it in for a week. Once I buttoned everything up and tried to put the machine back in it's cave, it started doing something very...
If you remove digital.kext immediately after installing PT this solves the problem unless you are running an HD system. HDsystems need this next to recognize the PCI or PCIe cards.
So, it must have something to do with PCI issues in the new Chameleon.
I'm having the same issue.
Oddly, I'm only having it on my new system. My old system runs PT10 just great.
They were both created with the same version of Unibeast. Can I downgrade my version Chimera without major headaches?
Fixed it.
I found a Kext at Osx86.org that worked. RealtekR1000SL.kext
With that New Egg gift card I bought as my reward I got parts for a new i7 2600 machine with 24gig of Ram. :headbang:
Still very much need some help.
Could it be the DSDT that I'm using? It is the same one I used with my Snow Leopard system. I'm not even sure how I would go about changing it. Would re-installing User DSDT do the trick?
Anyone else have success with this, or a similar, MB?
Hey everyone.
I have a (near) perfectly working 10.7.2 system I built using Unibeast. My only issue is that I can't get Bonjour to work. This is a serious issue for me since I rely on it for my EuCon ethernet controllers to work with my PT rig. My symptoms are like you would think. Internet...
I fixed my issue. I hope this can help the OP.
I started with a clean install of Lion. I then installed a fresh Chimera on the Lion drive and repaired permissions. I then installed options from Multibeast one by one, repairing permissions after each one. I started with Fake SMC, then FakeSMC...
I'm having the same problem. If I use my Unibeast USB stick I can boot into either my Snow Leopard drive, or my Lion drive and things (mostly) work great. However, I've used Multibeast, and also champ list to put Chimera on the HD itself and every time I try it I get a Kernel Panic. I've...
So, if I boot from my unibeast USB stick I can happily run my lion drive or my Snow leopard drive. Awesome! Few questions:
Audio doesn't work on either. What driver do you use? What should I look for in my kexts folder to get rid of that might be causing an issue?
I can't boot from the HD, I...
