It's not just about whether the card "works" - recognizes SSDs, but whether one is getting 6 GB/s speeds.
See review "This card is incapable of reaching SATA-3 speeds - read on"

I have Mtn Lion (10.8.3) installed using Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 MB [rev1.0 (bios F9)] ALC889
I started with 10.8.2, but for both 8.2/8.3 I have had audio working using a DSDT and
MultiBeast. However, for each, the console reports the following (10.8.3 /MB 5.3)
Article: OS X 10.8.3 Update Install Failed _ "sort of"
I performed a 10.8.3 combo update from 10.8.2. The message said "Installation Failed" but "About My Mac" has the following after reboot: System Version:
OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
Kernel Version: Darwin 12.3.0
Before attempting to edit the DSDT for my Gigabyte MB so audio would work in Mountain Lion,
I loaded the DSDT - DSDT-GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3-F9.aml - into the DSDT editor (from olarila.com)
and attempted to compile.
This resulted in the following errors (+ 1 remark)

I'm assuming the EFI BIOS eliminates the requirement for a DSDT - since there isn't one available

If you're going to buy from NewEgg - and I'm in no way suggesting that you shouldn't - then read the product feedback from previous buyers - particularly Gigabyte MBs. Sure, some buyers may appear to not know what they are doing - so the complaints may be unwarranted - but others are...
