Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

I got it from Amazon. They’re refunding. I’ll see what other options I can find that’ll work.

Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

There's nothing on it anyway, and I've got everything backed up on a few drives. DU shows SMART status as failing. I tried to erase it in recovery and installer to try to do a clean install and it froze again. Currently in Windows (Windows shows it as "Reliability Degraded") erasing the disk and...

Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

Don't think it's SE. From what I can tell, Gen4 is the SE version. Mine is Gen3 WDS500G3X0C

Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

Not sure if there is any relation between the issues, but within the last week I've been experiencing random freezes and extremely laggy mouse, with no changes made on my system. The reason I'm posting about it here is because after shutting down to recover from a freeze this morning, I got a...

Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

I switched from Samsung 970 evo to wd black sn750 and it’s night and day! Roughly 5 minutes from picker to desktop on the 970, and less than 15 seconds on the wd!

Extremely slow 6-7 minute boot time with Monterey 12.0.1

Think I'm going to buy one too. You should write to WD and see if you can get a commission

What are you using to clone? Carbon Copy doesn't seem to work for me in Monterey.

<< Solved >> BCM94352Z not working with BlueToolFixup

I was having problems after installation too. No Bluetooth, most of my USB ports stopped working (mapped when I upgraded to 11.3), no WiFi, and none of my other drives were visible..... I disabled BcrmBluetoothInjector, installed BlueToolFixup (2.6.1) and put kexts in order of BcrmFirmwareData...

It boots fine in 11.4, but I can't even download the beta.

    Can't download public beta

No errors, it just doesn't show as an available update.

    Can't download public beta

I looked at that multiple times and didn't notice...... Either way, I changed it to Disabled and rebooted, but no luck.... update still shows 11.4 Someone on another forum suggested switching to Clover, but I don't want to try the beta bad enough to go through that lol

    Can't download public beta

The only options for XMP (unless I'm looking in the wrong spot) is Auto or XMP. TPM is disabled, Gatekeeper is set to App Store and identified developers, SIP is enabled, and SecureBootModel is disabled.

    Can't download public beta

I changed XMP to auto, but still no luck. Is it possible that my ID is blocked?

    Can't download public beta

TPM disabled in BIOS SIP enabled (csr-active-config=00000000) SecureBootModel=Disabled in config.plist Gatekeeper enabled. So I double checked all of these. While I'm sure it would matter when it comes to installing and booting the OS, I wasn't holding out much hope that it would make any...

    Can't download public beta

Verified SIP, SecureBootModel, and Gatekeeper. I can't find a TPM value in my BIOS so I'm not sure about that one.... Unless it's this.

Anyone else not able to download Monterey?

    Need help fixing RTC

Need some help fixing RTC. I followed the OC guide here but it looks like I may have random write issues. I split the regions from 00-80 and 80-FF, got a safe mode message on 80-FF but not on 00-80, so the bad region should be within 00-7F. Broke that down further and further until I had it...

OpenCore: change logo/color of Apple boot screen?

I'm not sure if it's allowed to link to that site. But if you google "OpenCanopy Icons themes", it's one of the first ones.

OpenCore: change logo/color of Apple boot screen?

If I'm understanding you, your'e asking about custom themes on OC? You can change OpenCore from a text interface to a GUI using Opencanopy, check here. And you can apply custom themes to Opencanopy, too. This is mine currently. You can also change the background color on the Apple OS loading...
