Hey Sennen, would you mind sharing your EFI?
I've been trying to get my H370 set up, but only got as far as the initial Mojave boot where it lets you create an account. I have not been able to successfully use MultiBeast, and Xdan suggested I find someone who got their H370 working and copy...
Why did I buy the H370? At the time I put the parts list together last Dec., I wanted to make sure I bought the parts exactly as listed on the tonymacx86 Ultimate Buyers Guide, mini-ITX size, and at the time that was the board listed! Now the buyers guide lists the z370.
This was to be a...
Xdad, I'm sorry for being so slow, I thought following the "Mojave Desktop Guide", that Multibeast must me used after the initial Mojave boot, and that the Clover was a more advanced app that was used place of UniBeast to create the initial bootable USB.
So the Clover app should be used in...
Thank you Xdan, I have tried to follow the bios setup to the letter, with the exception that I only have the UHD 630 graphics, but it just hangs on the first boot attempt.
However, I have been able to get to the Mojave to boot to the initial "create account" using the EFI that was built as...
I'm trying to start over, using a new USB-2 stick.
OMG - After many attempts, it finally booted Mojave!!!
Now I have to figure out what options to select on MultiBeast.
Audio: 100/200/300 Series audio support (since the ASUS H370-I is 300 series, right?)
Disk: Intel Generic...
I found that if I hit the reset and forced a reboot after the installer hung, I could finally get it to boot Mojave. But that brings me to the next problem - what to select in MultiBeast so that it will boot again. Unfortunately I chose poorly, and the reboot hung.
Installing Clover no, but knowing which magical drivers and kexts to select for which motherboard, that requires knowledge and powers way above a mere entry level noob such as myself! As soon as I find where I put that USB-2 and have a beer, I will give it another go.
And to think, just a week...
Back to installing Mojave - I didn't know I needed Lilu+WEG. I see that Lilu is the first item in the Clover Configurator Kext Installer menu, but I don't see WEG, where do I get that? Ohh, WhateverGreen === WEG, yes?
Just as an experiment - installed and booted High Sierra using another USB: After several attempts when the machine rebooted to the Clover boot loader, it miraculously installed and booted High Sierra! Unfortunately I have not done the post-install steps and re-booted it before running...
Attached is a zipped copy of the CLOVER dir from inside the EFI partition I was using to try to install Mojave.
Meanwhile, I am trying to see if the High Sierra install would run into the same error ...
One thing I have not done is try to update the ASUS BIOS, I was not sure if it was worth...
If I hit the reset button and when the Clover boot screen appears I select boot from HFS, it will get to the Mojave install screen, but hang almost at the start, at the 31 min.
Maybe I should give up on Mojave and try High Sierra?
The machine has 2 plain old SATA spinning drives from an older PC:
SATA6g_1: WDC WD5000LP vx-22votto
SATA6g_2: STS00LM012 HN-M500MBB Media
The WDC drive has Ubuntu, I just loaded that to make sure the hardware was good. Ubuntu runs fine.
The "STS" drive is where I am trying to install Mojave...
I got a USB2 flash drive.
Using the Clover Configurator:
checked USB Inject and FixOwnership
loaded the USBInjectAll.kext, but didn't see XHCIunsupported.kext on the list. How do I get that?
Now I can boot from the USB and get as far as the OSX Mojave install screen:
formatted hard drive with...
I will look for a USB2 flash drive.
And I found that several other posts relating to the ASUS STRIX H370-I motherboard:
Unfortunately I don't know how to use kext's or replace the EFI...
The ASUS STRIX H370-I motherboard apparently only has USB3 ports. I've attached a pic of the user's manual.
I thought that if this motherboard was listed on the buyers guide, then it would be compatible?
I turned off Fast Boot (which may have been set before, I'm not sure)
I am a total newbie...
Thank you for the reply! But still no joy. I get the following garbled error screen after several minutes. I think initially its legible, then it gets over written. I will have to catch it just right to take a better photo.
