Solved > Do the Samsung 970 Evo Plus drives work ? New Firmware Available for testing 5/20/19

I can confirm... installing the new firmware (2B2QEXM7) works! I had the initial firmware, and MACOS 10.13.6 would crash upon even accessing the disk in disk utility. But Now, with the new firmware on my 1 TB 970 Evo Plus, I created an APFS partition, and cloned my old drive to it, NO PROBLEMS...

New web drivers are out so no need to do this any more.

macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update

Update went smooth. Window server won't boot with the current version of the Nvidia web drivers installed... So I booted into single user mode, just patched Info.plist in NVDAStartupWeb.kext with the version num of the supplemental upgrade, redid permissions in /L/E, rebuilt my kextcache, and...

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 6 is Now Available

I got the "unable to update firmware" error no matter the kind of partition schema I used (HFS+ or APFS) for some of the prior betas. Seems that Apple has fixed whatever bug it was that was introduced into their installer code.

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 6 is Now Available

I clean installed using the same r4184 that I used for Public Beta6, which led the firmware error under Beta6 if my windows SSD was connected. Seems that the firmware error was a bug in Apple's code. I'll note that for the first couple of High Sierra Betas, I didn't get any firmware issues at...

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 6 is Now Available

Thanks Rehabman. What about the "unable to update firmware" error that several users are reporting if their windows drive (initialized/formatted by the Windows installer) is attached during the initial High Sierra Beta installer boot?

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 6 is Now Available

Thanks bro. I completely agree with you, and for el capitan, sierra, and the first 3 betas of High Sierra, the presence of the windows drive did not interrupt the MacOS installer. However, ever since High Sierra beta4 or so, I've been getting the "unable to Update Firmware" Error if my Windows...

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 6 is Now Available

Can confirm that having EmuVariableUEFI64.efi on the installer's boot EFI causes the OSInstall.mpkg error. Removing it fixes the error. I wonder what it is about Clover's NVRAM emulation that is conflicting with OSInstall.mpkg? Also another troubling error is the infamous "Unable to Update...

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 5 is Now Available

Public Beta 6 is out. Sleeps/resumes better with external USB hard drive controllers. All older versions of Macos failed to resume from sleep with a certain USB hard drive controller of mine (its power would be lost as the computer went down for sleep). But this latest beta works well with...

[WARNING] Clover will break your REAL Mac, use with caution

Did you all try to reset NVRAM? Doing so fixed the problem for me.

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 5 is Now Available

Are you using apfs? If if you're using apfs, the clover installer isn't automounting the efi partition during installation. It's a known issue. The only workaround is exactly what you suggested.

macOS High Sierra Public Beta 5 is Now Available

nv_disable=1 boot flag fails to force my Nvidia discrete cards to boot into VESA mode; window server fails to start on beta 5 using nv_disable=1. This is a problem when doing updates on a 17,1 system that generates a black screen using vanilla video kexts. Any one: Besides using Lilu+Nvfix-up...

nv_disable=1 not forcing nvidia card into VESA mode in High Sierra Beta 5 (Clover +4152)

High Sierra Beta 5 is out. Installed smooth; EMUVariableUEFI.emu can remain on the EFI partition without causing the infamous OSInstall.mpkg error. However, integrated graphics and Discrete graphics aren't coexisting peacefully. The nv_disable=1 bootlflag is busted and longer functioning like...

beta 5 is out. Installed smooth (EMUVariableUEFI.emu) can remain on the EFI partition without causing the infamous OSInstall.mpkg error. However, integrated graphics and Discrete graphics aren't coexisting peacefully. NV_disable bootlflag is busted. Once a discrete card is in my system, I...
