[Guide] Dell XPS 9530 using Clover UEFI

Thanks Spud / Rehabman

Clover wasnt installing to the EFI partition using the installer. It was installing itself to the HFS+ partition. So in the end I manually installed to EFI and now I can see the boot loader on boot up.

You have to do "Custom" and "Install for UEFI"... ("Install to ESP" will be automatic).

Still got work to do thro.. I now get nothing from the screen after selecting OSX from Clover.... Guess it is more search and read to be done.
Can you login into desktop?

I have problem with my bluetooth and iphone.
I can connect and use it as hotspot and connection is quite stable but when I try just connect laptop with iphone or select from iphone "connect with macbook" it says that was unable or device is unsupported

I don't have any problems with bluetooth and e.g. bluetooth headset connection

EDIT:
everything works fine. Handoff, imessage and facetime too.

Hi, i'm new in this hackintosh world and I followed your guide to install OSX 10.10.2 on my Dell Precision M3800.
Everything went fine until I installed Clover on my SSD and booted from there.
I got stuck at this point.

Any idea on how to fix this?
Thank you. :)

P.S.: I've installed the Broadcom BCM94352Z NGFF card.

You have some sort of graphics issue. This guide is for Dell XPS 9530 with Intel graphics, not nvidia.

I tought the Precision had the same graphics of the XPS. Am I wrong?

No idea. Your profile doesn't specify the screen resolution. Thanks for adding the HD4600 info though (it was nvidia only previously).

I had the same issue. Here is how I fixed it. Assuming you can still boot with the clover from the usb drive

1. change ig-platform-id in your config file to 0x0a2e0008
2. boot and login
3. remove the kext cache file
4. use kext utility to rebuild the cache
5. set the platform id to 0x0a260006 and reboot

Note: The reason this is required is documented here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...xps-9530-using-clover-uefi-54.html#post980105

(it is a kernel cache/KextsToPatch issue)

But it is not clear that maxvi8 has the same graphics configuration (QHD+ screen) as the XPS 9530.

@maxvi8, please fill out your hardware details...

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Has anyone tried this on the new XPS with the 4K display?
