Hi all,

I bought a Turtle Beach Micro II USB Audio adapter to send DD/DTS from my NUC hackintosh to a receiver.

I followed this guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/133780-surround-sound-realtek-alc-applehda-guide.html but I'm unable to output surround sound.I only get a loud noise like radio static.

NUC is running 10.9.5 and XBMC Gotham (also tried with Plex).

The weird thing is that the same adaptor works without issues on a MBA (10.9.5 /XBMC (Gotham) and on a Mac Mini 2.1 (SL/Plex).

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help
F

Hi again,

Anyone using the Turtle Beach Micro II can confirm that DTS/AC3 passthrough works?

Thanks
F

Hi Toleda

Thanks for your reply. Passthrough is enabled in XBMC settings.

Please see below my MacOSX/XBMC Audio settings. Am I missing something?

The Micro II works perfectly with the exact same settings in my MacBook Air. So could this be somehow a hardware (USB) related issue?

Thanks for your time
F

Hi Toleda,

Thanks for your reply

I ended up creating a clean Yosemite install in a new partition and it worked!

So finally it was OS related ... weird

cheers
