Successfully updated to 10.8.2

GA-X58A-UD3R r2.0
OCZ Vertex 3 MAXIOPS 240GB over SATA 3.0
USB 3.0 work via CalDigit Drivers (via Multibeast)
Core i7-950 3.20 GHz
24GB RAM OCZ 1333
AMD Radeon HD 6870, 1GB RAM

Seems a long way around, but it works:
Clone HDD, Use Multibeast to install Chimera onto backup drive
Boot from Cloned Drive and download 10.8.2 Combo update from Apple
Run Multibeast 5.0.2 using User DSDT to update FakeSMC and FakeSMC Plugins (Uncheck NVIDIA GeForce Plugin) to Original Drive
When complete, Navigate to System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext ->Right Click -> Show Package Contents -> Contents/Plugins and delete OemSMBios.kext (enter password)
When completed, Run Combo Update
When complete you should be able to successfully boot you Original Drive with no problems
I had to run Multibeast 5.0.2 to get my audio back

Good Luck

EDIT: Looks like USB 3.0 is Still not working, but at least is shows up in system information and does not crash the system.

I updated on the following equipment with no problems except for having to rollback to the old audio from 10.7.4 in Multibeast before restart:

EVGA x58 3 Way SLi Classified Motherboard
Intel Core i7 920 Processor
12 GB Corsair Dominator 1600 MHz RAM
XFX Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB Video Card
500 GB Seagate Barricuda Hard Drive

Everything was fine when I rebooted after installing the update except my sound didn't work. All I had to do to fix that was run Multibeast to rollback to the old 10.7.4 audio file for the Realtek 889 Series. Now I'm running 10.8.2 on the above listed equipment and it's rock solid!

I installed from the Combo Updater but received a "Installation Failed" message at the end of the installer.

I rebooted in verbose mode, got stuck at the OemSMBIOS error.

I booted into my backup disk and copied my 10.8.1 AppleHDA.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext from /System/Library/Extensions as per cheetaa's suggestion and rebooted.

I did not delete OemSMBIOS.kext

Everything seems to work just fine now.

I do not use the built-in audio interface, so I have not tested that.

Worked for me after remove OemSMBIOS.kext in FakeSMC and Disable Intel VT-D Support in BIOS. Re-Applied Audio Patch (HDA Enabler and patched AppleHDA). Graphics works oob, NEC RENESAS USB 3.0 now works perfectly with this kext http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3187 (you need to remove MultiBeast USB3 kexts before). Updated with combo from 10.8.1.

MSI P67A-C43 (B3), Intel Core-i5 2500K, 16GB DDR3 Memory, Realtek ALC892 HD Audio, AMD HD4870 1GB XFX.

Hey brunomotter, I was wondering if you could help me out. I have the same motherboard and processor that you have and yet 10.8.2 doesn't work for me. Can you tell me you BIOS setup and what you did to get it work. I tried the basic way to set it up, with the unibeast but it fails to boot so I can install MultiBeast.

Thanks a bunch!

My Specs are:

Z77X-UD5H with Bios version F14
i7-3770 at 3.4Ghz
GTX 550i 2GB

I have the GA-Z77MX-D3H TH motherboard. Make sure your "VT-d" setting in BIOS is disabled before upgrading. Once I set this to disabled the upgrade went perfectly.

Mine just stops att the white screen with the Apple logo. I use GraphicsEnabler=No usually, but i cant set it to No as my keyboard does not work in the MultiBeast boot screen (Works in Bios though).

What to do? Please help :(

Enable USB keyboard and mouse in BIOS. then it should work at boot screen

after updating and not being able to boot, this worked perfectly.
I have a XFX 6870 so I knew that was the problem as soon as the computer was hanging at the boot logo

thanks

Even booting with -x always stuck at white screen (ATI HD6670) because the new ati kexts...

Before update, I saved a copy of the folder Extensions of my working 1.8.1 in other partition. Started from Windows 7 partition (McDrive installed) and copy-pasted my previous AtiController6000.kext and AppleHDA.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext (allways saved from previous version) in S/L/E.

NO OemSMBIOS.kext removed.

Rebooted with Unibeast usb to repair permissions. Finally rebooted with UseKernelCache=No and all worked like a charm...

Even if you don't save your previous ACPI kext (bad done BTW) you can download from here (attached)

Hope it helps.

B.R.

Everything works fine after installing combo update on my P5QL-PRO, only my audio (ALC 888/1200) didn't work after restart. I was used multibeast 5.0.2 and run update this - Audio) Realtek ALCxx) Without dsdt) ALC888) v100202 Legacy. Then audio run again as before.
