The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread - For 7020/9020 Optiplex Desktops

I got Mac OS installed on my T1700 with the 760 but quick question, where do you download the modGRUBShell.efi? I need to do the USB mod as USB 2 isn't routed through XHC.

Regards

Hi, thanks for this great guide. Two issues though:

1. I'm on 9020MT with i7-4790, RX 580, LG 4k using DP, iMac15.1 BigSur 11.7.7. Wake/sleep turned off. After first booting everything is fine. Then when I turn off the monitor for a minute (not using the computer for a while) and turn it later on, the monitor does this weird thing, as if it restarted and Optimac does not recognize it correctly. The contrast and brightness go way up, I cannot use its presets, modes etc. This has never happened on my previous Optimac (Mojave/Catalina on Clover) on the same setup. Any ideas?

2. Intel Power Gadget at idle does not go down + the temp is quite high. You have adressed the issue before and as I understand these values are expected to be higher in BigSur, but still. I'm attaching my plist.

Make a copy of your EFI folder. Remove the serial numbers from that and post it here, zip file.

4 years ago when I tested my 4790 at idle with the Intel PG app here's how it looked.
I was using the stock cooler from Dell but I had put on a new coat of good quality thermal paste.

i remember this being an issue back in 2019 as well, when I was following your first Golden Build Guide for Optimac - but then you managed to solve it at some point :) i'll look for it in that thread.
here's my efi:

Probably the Radeon ? Maybe... ?

So, after some testing and reading about the issue - i believe the OS is at fault here.
I played some with HDR settings in System Preferences (toggled it on and off when monitor got screwy again) and... it solved the problem. Surprisingly, no issues since then. Weird.

Glad it worked!
