Ummm.... count the pins, your photo shows 40 contacts. It may just be that they are spaced differently, they come in many sizes.
Interesting, so a quick google revealed that this could be a 'Narrow 40pin eDP', I haven't found any adapters that could convert narrow to regular size. Annoyingly I can't get the display to turn on after putting it back together, sound works and plugging it in to the M1 Air still shows it in display settings.
Try looking around here... you may have to measure it to determine the connector pitch.
