Z790 USB-C ports not working

No, the way you order the kexts has nothing to do with the Bluetooth working or not.

I need to have another look at the USBPorts-Z790Plus.kext to check the Port for the Bluetooth, and make sure it is set the same in the revised kext as in the other kext where it works, which it should be.

Having checked the ports in the USB kexts I would say it was unchanged in the revised kext.

So it could be the Bluetooth is not working because I removed the IntelBTPatcher.kext from the system. Try adding that kext back in to your /EFI/OC/Kexts folder, with a companion entry in the config.plist, see if that fixes the Intel Bluetooth issue.

Copy attached below.

OK I put the IntelBTPatcher.kext file back in the kexts folder in my EFI folder and made the entry in config.plist in OC Configurator and rebooted but still no BT.

Sorry I am not sure what else to suggest.

You should in theory only require BlueToolFixup.kext and IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext for the bluetooth module to work. Assuming the USB Port serving the BT module is active.

Your USB Port config kext has HS11 set as the only Internal (255) USB Port, which I have assumed is serving your BT module. This was the only port set with the Internal (255) connector type in any of the USB configuration kexts.

If you look in your IOReg, using the version 2.1 linked below what does it show for Port HS11?

Hi there.

It would help if you went into System Report / Bluetooth and checked the Vendor ID and Product ID for the BT chipset.

The OpenIntelWireless Bluetooth support is for a series of 10 or so models. As the AX211 Intel wireless chipset is supported you would expect the BT side to also be supported. Worth checking though because the AX211 is not the most common variant.

As for the screengrab from IORegistryExplorer, all looks as it should for HS11 and bluetooth.

Post a copy of your IOReg.

I would look to check that the bluetooth module isn't attached to another port and set with the wrong connector type.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood. I thought you were using the Intel Wireless/BT.

Apologies.
