[HOW TO] OpenCore 0.8.7 > 0.8.8 differences

@xiaofeng.liao
In you look at the inside of the OC 0.8.8 package, of course showing hidden files first, there is a .contentVisibility file next to Bootx64.efi. Copy it to the same place in your EFI/s (any boot partition you want to be hidden in the picker).

After upgrading to Opencore 0.8.8, in the booting picker screen, has a new Drive selection "EFI" and it becomes the first drive booter, and the booter is defaulted to select it, so when I disable the boot drive picker, can't boot the correct drive (it will be booted by "EFI").
I rolled back to Opencore 0.8.7, no this issue.

Could anyone help to figure out what the issue is and how to solve it?

Thanks.
I think it is not necessary to hide the "EFI" entry in the picker. What annoys you is the fact, that your boot drive is not automatically selected. I had the same issue (upgrading OC from 0.7.8 to 0.8.8), the update seems to have deleted the information of the desired boot drive (from NVRAM?). Simple solution for me was to reselect the boot drive in the system settings (like on a real mac). System Setting > General > Startup Disk

New version of OpenCore Configurator, fixed the ScanPolicy list in other languages different from English.

@5T33Z0 @miliuco It's been a while but I could swear that there was a way to set the default boot monitor (VESA) resolution before the desired OS loads with either Chameleon or Clover? If so, is that also possible with OpenCore? In my dual-screen setup, my main monitor shows the MB logo and options in what looks like 1080p (think, large print) instead of 4k (smaller and more normal looking). I've checked in the BIOS, the monitor manual as well as the "all-knowing Google" with no luck.

@Superbogey You could change UEFI/Output/Scale to 02 for HiDPI. Then the Icons should look smaller. At least the ones for the BootPicker

VESA mode is designed for maximum compatibility and won't use large resolutions by design. So disable CSM if it is enabled.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I've had CSM disabled for a while but I'll give the UEFI/Output/Scale setting a try.

OpenCore also has a resolution option somewhere, probably under UEFI->Output as well.
