ASRock Z690 Steel Legend + 13900KF / 12900K + 6600XT

As shown in the 1st post, it is around 96000.
Hmm, does psi 4.0 really affect performance so much? I have z 490 and my 6600xt red devil scores an average of 80,000 points

After struggling for day with making this from OC manual from scratch I found this!!! Dude you are amazing! It just so happened I just build my custom PC with all the same components as you! Using your file, it booted on the very first time! I just need to find out how to get OC to see the recovery image.

Why does your info for the graphics card say GTX 1660 Super ?

OC will display recovery drive if you press space bar, if I remember correctly.

Well maybe not EXACTLY the same. I think the graphics card is the only difference, and bit more RAM. the 1660 Super is what the box and device comes up. Otherwise not sure what you are aksing.

you will have to replace your unsupported nvidia card with an AMD card

This build looks exciting! I've been very happy with the z390 and z490 offerings due to integrated dual Thunderbolt and hot-plug functionality, but the sheer power offered by the 13900KF has me enticed!

So with that being said, is Thunderbolt achieved with this board via add-on card? Any particular SSDT's or anything else recommended for optimizing Thunderbolt functionality?

TB hot-pug would be nice, but not a deal breaker at all.

Thank you bootmacos for starting such an awesome thread!

Yeah, thanks a bunch for posting all these details. I ordered all the parts today and should be tucking into a build during the coming week. It will basically be identical, with the exception of using an old Vega 54 that I have laying around and a pair of WD SN850x M2s for a dual boot Win/Mac machine.

I'm excited!

I just wanted to say another thank you for getting all this info together. All my parts were delivered a few days ago, and my hackintosh was built and up and running MacOS Ventura within 4 hours. It would have been 3 hours, but I ended up spending an hour swearing at my OC USB installer because it wasn't working... only to discover that I put the OC & BOOT folders directly on the EFI partition instead of inside an EFI folder on the EFI partition. The silliest of things!

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any thoughts on what it would take to squeeze the remaining 15% of performance out of these i9 13900KF processors? It seems like they routinely benchmark around 24500 across Geekbench. I am getting a 19700-ish result under MacOS. Under Windows it was originally only hitting 15500 or so until I changed the BIOS CPU settings to performance mode. Now it is just over 20000.

Are these performance limitations purely the result of using a more cost effective motherboard with a power hungry CPU? Or is it possibly directly related to cooling? I'm just using a pretty cheap single fan CPU cooler on my build. It starts and stops like a learner driver on their first day driving a stick shift, revving to 1800RPM then slowing to 1300RPM ever 15 seconds or so. The fans are set to Fan Cooler & Performance mode in the BIOS settings.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I think either way, this machine is destined for a dual 360mm radiator cooling loop.
