Backup shows up as EFI disk and just hangs at boot. I'm on latest 6.1.3 CCC version. Ventura 13.0 I completely erased the disk, and started over. Still using the original EFIClose.sh script that I've been using since Mojave.

Same here.
Tried the "legacy" option.
Did you find a solution?

I did find a work-around... I used AOMEI Backupper ubackup.com from my windows drive, and simply cloned the disk. It boots and works flawlessly, I don't know if I can continue to use CCC now that the backup boots again, but I will give it a try on the next point release. CCC has always worked for me, but for some reason after Ventura my backup disk only shows up as an EFI partition in the boot loader, the OS drive does not appear at all... with the cloned disk plugged in, now both show up on the boot screen, which is fine I guess, I just boot from the OS and not the EFI.

Yeah, bummer with CCC.
Maybe they will come out with an update...
What I will do is reinstall Ventura on a second disk and then I can use timemachine to get my system working again with all the settings.
not as easy as CCC though.
But pretty reliable.

CCC just came out with an update: 6.1.4
Maybe will give that a try.

ok,
I got the backup working.
I updated to 13.0.1.
But the UI is a little unsmooth.
Don't know if the update caused it...
