[Success] Install Ventura on the HP ProDesk 600 G3 with OC 0.8.6

That message is valuable, it's telling you that none of the changes you made in BIOS are sticking with a reboot. It's reverting back to defaults. Seems to be a common problem with HP G2, G3, G4 models.

Did you install a new CMOS battery before the install ? If not you can check what you've got with a multimeter or a coin cell battery tester. If the battery is ok (at least 3.2v or more) then it will likely require an RTC patch/fix. @sonicman66 may be able to elaborate on this topic. I'm not currently using any HP desktops presently.

Here's the patch that many HP owners have added to their OC config.plist. RTC IRQ 8.

I forgot to add the EC file to Clover. It was only on the USB stick. Now it boots to Catalina SSD. I will check the battery, but I was booting to Windows and keeping the settings. When I check the BIOS setting they are all there.

Then the RTC patch is required to resolve that message popping up with every reboot.

1. HD 630 graphics is now natively recognized and working with full acceleration
2. All USB ports are recognized with my Windows generated map, I but I have not tested the speed.

No sound. I tried installing AppleHDA to /Library/Extension resetting permissions and clearing cache, but nothing. It has been a while since I worked with Clover.

Will check the battery voltage next. Where would the patch go in Clover?

AppleHDA is an Apple system kext, you should leave that alone. look more into AppleALC.kext

No sound.
The problem is that HP used some obscure audio chip in these HP models. Maybe Conexant ?
Anyway, there's probably no support in older AppleALC kexts. It may have been added later on. You'd have to check on Acidanthera Github and look up the exact audio chip it uses. Or you could just hold off on audio for now and work on an OC EFI folder (and OC version) that will work with Monterey or Ventura. Then fix audio later on.

It looks like AppleALC support for that Conexant Codec was added in latter 2019 by some HP owners.

So it should be workable with OC and an AppleALC kext version from 2020 or newer. All the HP G3/4/5 models seem to have used that same Conexant CX20632 Audio Codec. The three layout-id options are: layout 20, 23, 28

I'm using layout-id 28 for my Hp 400 G4
