Hi, i was able to install Ventura on my HP8300 with the internal HD4000 GPU with the EFIs and config.plist postet in this thread. Thank you very much. I used the PostInstall of the OpenCoreLegcyPatcher to get the graphics work.

I did a fresh install and restored then the settings, data and programms from my timemaschine backup.

After a few days I noticed, that some Apps did not start. They are crashing or freezing (FireFox, Spotify, Skye, VisualStudioCode, Origin / Elektronic Arts).

I tried to reinstall the Apps with no difference.

I can run Apps like Fusion360 oder Apple Maps with 3D view on New York without any problems, so I think that the graphics (HD4000) works.

Is this also the case with your installations? Any ideas what I could try/change?

I also run Ventura on an old MacBookPro mid 2012 with the HD4000 graphics. On the MacBookPro, these Apps are working.

Thank you very much and regards

This is what everyone reports when using OCLP with older Intel chipsets not supported by Ventura. No fix available that I know of.

Hi, ah ok. I installed my MacBookPro 2012 completely with OCLP and PostInstall for HD4000 fix. On my MacBook I have no problems... I will look into the MacBook EFI and try to compare things...
Tank you and greetings
Dennis

A MBP 2012 is not a hackintosh. OCLP is not intended to be used with a hackintosh. It's doing a lot more than just patching HD4000 to make the MBP work with Ventura. Ventura shouldn't be installed on older Ivy Bridge hackintosh systems, lacking AVX 2.0, in my opinion. If you can live with the limitations, it's your decision. It probably won't be a Mac like experience. If your MBP from 2012 works well with patches, why not buy a hundred dollar used 2012 Mac mini and upgrade it to Ventura ?

Thanks for the information. I think I'm looking for a newer workstation PC. Are there recommendations, which workstation PCs have hardware supported by Ventura? Ideally, hopefully also from the next system?

I think the best choice today is Z490 and a 10th gen CPU that has UHD630 built in. The last Intel iMac was tenth gen based and came out in August 2020 so UHD630 will be supported to the end of Intel support.

This ATX MSI Z490 board is selling for $89.99 at Amazon. Great deal while they last.

A number of people are using this with Ventura and it works well. Even has an onboard
TH3 header if you ever want to use a Titan Ridge thunderbolt card at some point. Here's the
back panel I/O that has most everything you could want or need.

After clicking the link, you have to scroll down to where it shows the "Other Sellers : Sold by" Amazon.com

This K version 6 core Inel i5 pairs with it nicely. Overclocking it later on will give many more years of usefulness.

Amazon warehouse return would only cost $161.56 so that's not expensive for a tenth gen z490 chipset Intel build.

DDR4 ram is super cheap today about $49 for Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8GB. A no-brainer to go with a Z490 tenth gen at these low prices. Total cost would be $300.54 + sales tax and you get Free Shipping !
