@Stork - did you ever track down a USB 3.0 front panel as mentioned in the forum at another community:

Anybody making anything like this on this side of the big pond?

Nope. Not for a Mac Pro. I did get a PowerPC G5 front panel back in the day, though.

Come to think of it, I believe that you can get one from the Laser Hive.

Here's a do it yourself method:

@craighazan - the USB3.0 front panel PCB in post #1 was produced by JLCPCB - small batch custom PCB builder.

Might be useful for a "no-cut" G5/ATX conversion - maybe a new thread under Case Mods > Powermac G5

I got the BlackCH mod for my G5 a few years ago. My current setup though is complaining about to much power draw when I attach the front USB cable to the board. I’d like the front panel to have 2 USB 3 ports though!.

Maybe my G5/ATX front panel has the same problem - how do you measure power draw from the USB?

you also can diy it by reusing windows pc cables/input parts (USB,Headphone/audio jack plug).

with my build i ordered a 4 usb 3.0 hub with a plugs for straight to the motherboard.

it a quick and easy fix for just the 2 front usb ports but only when you want more usb ports and want a clean front look then it takes a bit more time and effort but worth it.
