Hello,
I have 3 questions about Hackintosh please
First this is my config:
CPU: intel i7 4790k
dGPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2 GB
Monterey 12.5.1 with Opencore 0.8.4

My questions are:
1- What is the difference between HfsPlus.efi or OpenHfsPlus.efi?
Do I need one or both of them in my config?

2- In the option SecureBootModel the value is Disable
Is it the correct value or does it have to be set to default in order to get updates?
Or what is the natural that it should be?

3- At SMBIOS I'm currently working with iMac 18,3
But I found that this is not the best option compatible with my config rather it is iMac 14,2
In this case, can I change it without problems? Does it support Monterey?

Thank you in advance and sorry for my English because it is not my native language

@P1LGRIM answered all your questions.

Just out of interest, the difference between HfsPlus.efi and OpenHfsPlus.efi is that HfsPlus is a copyrighted item that, in theory, should not be distributed by others. If you have your own copy that's fine.

So OpenHfsPlus was created to get around this issue. Anyone can use it and it does the same job.

:)

I believe you should get updates with it disabled as SIP is more relevant. You could set SecureBootModel to Default or one of the model and version specific values listed in the Dortania guide below. That enables OpenCore to verify boot.efi when loading it.

You'll need an SMBIOS of at least iMac17,1 to support Monterey or higher if you plan to upgrade to Ventura when it's released.

Skylake is not officially supported in Ventura, iMac18,1 would be better

Thank you for the clarification. @P1LGRIM above chose HfsPlus.efi and you tell me to choose OpenHfsPlus.efi I'm confused which one to choose

Thank you very much for your answer

This is correct. Now I have the SecureBootModel in Disable mode and with this I am receiving updates normally.
So, do you recommend that I change it to Default or leave it in Disable mode? What is the correct value?

I read in the dortania guide that not using the appropriate smbios for my config can cause cpu and power management issues. So does my use of iMac17.1, for example, cause me this kind of problem?

Thanks for your answer

@jpz4085 says iMac17,1 is fine and you mentioned iMac18,1
What is the best option for my config, especially since I want to move to ventura when the final version is released

As a sub-question I read in the dortania guide that not using the appropriate smbios for my config can cause cpu and power management issues. So does my use of iMac18.1, for example, cause me this kind of problem?

Default or a specific model will provide a measure of security but it's up to you.

You should be fine and that's what I use on my Haswell machine to run Monterey. Power and CPU related issues should be avoidable as long as you don't do something like use a desktop SMBIOS on a laptop.

To clarify my previous post you can use iMac17,1 to run Monterey or a later one such as iMac18,1 suggested by @Feartech to run Ventura.
