I have been reading about GPU patching on Dortania this morning. My H310T has an LVDS and eDP adapter and I'm hoping to integrate it into my iMac mod. According to Dortania page, 02 00 00 00 LVDS and eDP show up in my IO service. One of the reasons I picked this board is that it has the ability in BIOS to convert into an AIO chassis, enablabling the LVDS.

I don't see why not, it is a connector that many real Macs use.

According to the BIOS, I can only output 1920x1080, can that be changed to say, 1440?. The 9600K can output 4k at 60Hz through eDP.

The iMac G5 17" uses TMDS (part of HDMI), so I just received a replacement 17" LVDS screen and want to try the LVDS connector on my Asus Q87T. I will let you know how it goes...

Too much tech info on formats

eDP cable types

Re-using the iMac G5 TMDS screen as an HDMI monitor

More crazy hackaday LVDS screens
thanks for the links phunguss, to be clear though. I won’t be re-using the screen that came with my Intel iMac, I dismantled it and a couple of things might be broken. But I am planning on buying a 27” monitor that I could dismantle and use the panel and controller board. I was hoping 1440, but if the board can only kick out 1080, I might have to stick with that.

Another thing I’m interested to know is, if a GPU is plugged into M.2 E key socket, and the motherboard is switched to AIO chassis, will I still get output from the GPU?.

This is from the pin definition manual for the H310T, you can select which output you use by placing jumpers in different positions.

My Q87T has LVDS on top, and eDP on the bottom, same physical port sizes (40pin 0.5mm pitch), but the electronic signals are different, hence the jumper. I have the correct connector for my display, but not my motherboard... still trying to locate one.

More geeky signal info

And I am guessing a GPU in the M.2 slot will not provide video out the eDP/LVDS port... that is likely dedicated to the iGPU on the CPU due to the boards design for embedded applications (BIOS option to turn on LVDS/eDP).

What about using one of these adapters to make using a standard HDMI input display of 1440p or more possible ?
Have to be shipped from China and are quite expensive. Hard to tell whether it will work or not. Some risk involved.

My options for display are looking pretty good!. A GPU in the M.2 E key with HDMI and DP, also on the motherboard. And eDP and LVDS also on the motherboard. @trs96 thanks for chipping in, I was hoping for your input on this. An adapter might be the way to go, would solve a lot of unknowns, my issue is I can’t go back to HDMI, I could but I don’t want to, not after seeing the V word using DP.
